Yeah, like what the heck! I'm sorry, but it just blows my mind as to why America loves Star Wars so much. Who the heck are all these people going to see this film??? I mean...really???

I'm literally holding my breath right now, just hoping....DO NOT beat Avatar and Titanic worldwide. TFA can have all those records it won, but not the MOST important one that matters. TOTAL gross!!! Titanic especially is a true, stunning work of art that does not deserve to be topped. Avatar only topped it because Titanic had no 3D when people were constantly going to watch it over and over again in theaters.

They are moviegoers who, like most moviegoers, think that SW:TFA is a better movie than Titanic or Avatar.

Yup, i enjoyed Avatar and own it on 3DBR, but as far as story goes it wasn't anything great, essentially it was Pochohantas. However, the world that JC created, the animals, insects, plants and how it all comes together is what made it special.

Star wars has deeper lore and story as it's a more fleshed out universe across films, comics, novels, etc TFA for me is greater than Avatar as it brings many of these things together along with some awesome dialogue and easter eggs for fans. It just does so much right on top off being a great film on its own right, I think it deserves to beat Avatar and the Titanic.

To add to that, the success of one does not diminish the quality of the other.

According to RT, 60% of people disagree with me when I say TPM is crap.

IMDB is a much better barometer for Star Wars movies (or anything in general, really):

Empire Strikes Back - 8.8

A New Hope - 8.7

The Force Awakens - 8.5

Return of the Jedi - 8.4

Revenge of the Sith - 7.7

Clone Wars - 6.9

The Phantom Menace - 6.5

Im not too sure about it, there is a massive hate campaign going on Imdb x FA. Ppl are making multiple accs just to give it low ratings and upvote any user review thats 1-3 stars so its the review that shows on the front page. This has happened before with other movies, I cant see FA going bellow 8 on imdb anyway cause the average ratings the movie gets is 8 but its more than likely that itll drop to low 8s or even lower due to haters. There have been other cases of similar campaigns on imdb, Age of Ultron sufered a similar fate and Batman Dark Knight Rises did as well. Thats why I like Rotten Tomatoes user votes, you say if you liked it or not and thats that, 90% of the ppl liked FA so...

I agree about IMDb but this type of movie has so many fanboys that it's hard to take all the 10s seriously.

I'm sure there are multiple more SW fanboys making multiple accounts to rate the movie a 10. Also, if you look at the Top 250 that includes votes from the top users and it has a 8.4 there. So, fanboys are overrating the movie.

Very true, although I can never forgive or forget for the trauma I had to go through listening to "My heart will go on" bring played again and again and again and sang along to by every friggin girl in the college I went to, and every girl I went out with wanting to go watch it again and again, and thinking every guy must be like Jack, and every relationship must be like the one on film.

TFA probably won't catch Avatar, but it's basically going to crush the domestic record, and has a fairly good chance of toppling Titanic internationally.

This is nothing but a monstrous success for Disney. It will be the highest grossing film in their company history.

Imdb is usually a good baramoter even though Crouching, Tiger, Hidden Dragon is rated to low.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0190332/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

It should be rated a lot higher and closer to its metacritic critic score which is 93.  The movie is one of my favorite movies of the early 2000s and I would rate it at a 9.5/10.

This only proves that you didnt spend 1 minute on the IMDB forums realy. If you put the user reviews on cronological order theres quite a bit more 7-10 reviews than 1-3, but if you put it on "top reviews" (as in the ones ppl vote) theres like 4 pages of 1-3 reviews. Ppl are going on a cruzade to lower the ratings too, even openly making threads calling the haters to arm.  As I said it has happened before, on The Dark Knight Ryses they managed to knock over .5 in its rating and until they stopped the cruzade the highest voted user review was a 2 stars one, similar thing happened ot Age of Ultron and in a lesser extent to Inception (altough this one ended up with a 8.8 regardless cause it started well over 9 and ppl still go to imdb and rate it 9 or 10 till this day).

Theres also a "top 250 defense force" on imdb, they targeted Avengers 1 for example, too popular for theyre liking, the movie stuck on the top 250 tough, but lost quite a few positions. Anything the "top 250 defense brigade" dont think is intelectual enought they downvote. They even atempted to do it to The Dark Knight, if you click the ratings there are over 25k 1 star ratings, but they failled miserably, because lets face it, no amount of hate could make ppl stop  giving that movie 10s and 9s.

I was gonna say it already is, but it seems it still has 9 million to go to surpass The Avengers. And also how the hell did Furious 7 end up only 4 million behind The Avengers? You'd think Universal would push it the last 4 million, wouldn't you?
