No! Japanese developers should stay far away from Metroid.

I'd hand to the reigns over to the likes of Rocksteady or Rockstar if they're up to it - maybe a western Square Enix studio. Or even Creative Assembly (Alien: Isolation).
Metroid began as an attempt to replicate the feel of the 'Alien' movies into a game. Metroid needs that + a true AAA treatment.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
Love Platinum Games, but I trust them more with a action focused game like Star Fox or even a F-Zero game before Metroid which has more adventure elements and probable puzzle elements.
I remember when people doubted Retro could pull off a first person Metroid title. If Nintendo listened to any of you, we would not have had some of the classics that did get made.
I would love to see them give it a shot!

That would be freaking amazing. I loved Isolation, one of the best games of last year in my opinion. A Metroid game in that style has so much potential.

Really? Oh well, I do not follow Nintendo recently since it only makes me sad, doesn't matter anyway. What I meant is do not outsource Metrioid to them, that'd be another garbage like MOM.
Platinum would do a fantastic job at establishing Samus as a bad ass bounty hunter. The would be good at portraying Samus as a strong, independent character. It would be interesting to see how they would adapt the game play. I think they would be able to create excellent action sequences, perhaps if they made the game with the assistance of another developer, as a means to maintain the exploration and isolated elements within the Metroid series.
I think it could definitely work.
