Metroid is widely (and fondly) remembered for it's atmosphere, exploration, sense of isolation. Not sure if Platinum Games can really get into such a project, especially up to the expectations of the hardcore fans. They are mostly known for their high-intensity, high-volume, and over-the-top action. They can work well with making games like Star Fox Zero (which is why they are co-developing with Miyamoto and Co.). However, it would be an interesting challenge for them if they want to get into something more subtle and slower pace type of games.

No. Platinum is hit and miss with me, and after the Team Ninja experiment, I'd rather Metroid be done by Nintendo or a Nintendo-owned company.

I didn't think gameplay wise Other M was that bad at all. It was a cool game, it just had horribly cheesy CGI cut scenes (though pretty) and got crapped on because it wasn't the Metroid game that Metroid purists wanted.

I wouldn't mind a Platinum take on that concept, but maybe use a different bounty hunter than Samus so it's a spin-off.

NO. Unless the team is just helping with some of the grunt work, it would be a terrible match. Every Platinum game is just about as far from a Metroid game as you can get.

I really want a Metroid Prime by partnership with Retro Studios and Crytek for NX, good... not hurt to dream kk
