Nah, at least half of them are important to the series in their own  way.

Ike: Is the western rep of the franchise and reps the games for home consoles (and be was in 2 ssb games) 

Lucina/Robin: Probably even more popular than both above now. They are the characters that saved once thought dying franchise. 

 

That said FE is now amongst the most popular IP in Japan (top 30?) and for Nintendo top 10 now. That means something. 

 

BTW, I do agree we need reps for other franchises more than FE for sure. Zelda/DK/Metroid deserve it wayyyyyy more

If I had to follow the trend and pick 4 characters to cut, I would have to go with Lucina, Rosalina, Wii Fit Trainer, and Cloud. Lucina mainly because Im getting fed up with all these FE characters and she seems the most unnecessary. Rosalina seems very forced along with her appearance in most other recent mario games. Wii Fit Trainer seems like she wont have any relevance once the Wii brand dies off and is a horrible character none the less. As for Cloud, I feel like he will be the Snake of this SSB and leave the roster due to not fitting in with the rest of the cast.

What about bayonetta she dosent fit with the rest of the ssb cast

Too bad that she fits the game far better than half of the current Smash cast.

Hopefully dumb filler characters like Lucina, Doc, Duck Hunt, Lucas,
make them (other than duckhunt) skins instead.
Duck hunt is just not a good character representation.

Oh and please get rid of Toon Link he's had his time in the sun for 10 years too long. He should have died with WW.

Nah, i was joking. I said its funny Zelda had 20% of the cast in SSBM, and it went from 1 rep to 5. 

I dont think FE deserves more than alot of other franchises. Like i want Bandana Dee in, but i rather see a newcomer of a unused ip come first like Dillon/Isaac/Saki or a franchise that needs another newcomer (KingKRool/Dixie + SkullKid/Impa + Ridley/??? + etc)

Corrin won't be in Smash 5. I'm good with the other FE mainstays - Marth, Ike, Chrom and Lucina.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING NOT THE DLC NEWCOMER CHARACTERS. Okay? Thanks.

Also, if Doc/Dark Pit/Lucina should be removed..nah. rather have them be costumes as ORIGINALLY intended.

Retro's/Jokes like WFT or DuckHuntDuo won't be removed as always. TBH. I don't want any cuts but a few are likely.
