So today, a Gameplay Demo of Mafia 3 appeard on IGN. Of course, there was/is a Thread on GAF. As some other peeps, I just wrote my Opinion and said, that it is looking good, but I just dont get the feeling like in Mafia and Mafia 2) and this looks like some GhettoGangster Stuff TO ME and that I miss 'the real Ganster with Honor and decency. Now, at that point, on a Gamingboard, I think it is obvious that I mean it in a way like "classy" , Gangsters with suits and loyality to their family when it comes to Honor. Maybe on other boards, that are not gaming related (and Mafia 3), you could see it differently. Of course I didn't mean it in a way that I liked their methods of Murder (which were of course very terrible) and so on. Welp, that ist what I got:

I was shocked and surprised. No other GAF-users were shocked or offened by my comment or sth. else., they were just discussing the video like everybody else (me for example). Kinda sadand sorry, pissed). 

And the worst part is that you can't contest a ban and no one can see why you were banned. And if you're a junior member they just permaban you on your first ban. It gives total control for crappy mods to push their agenda. VGC is perfect in comparison.

You have to have a specific world view on gaf when it comes to anything not completely game related, otherwise you won't last long at all.

Moderation will always be problematic because unless the person owning the site rules with an idealistic hand and holds his/her mods accountable, there will always be corruption.

One day, when I have a lot of capital, I am going to make my own forum and run it correctly. There will be zero tolerance when it comes to mods. Either they will follow the rules unbiasedly, or they will get canned and replaced by someone who is mature enough to do so.

That's why I'll have nothing to do with that kind of forum.  Screw places ruled by mods like that.  When they have complete authority without oversight they behave like children with god powers and it turns into this:

I was once a member of a forum where the vets would start fights with the new members and the new members would get banned for fighting back.  The funny thing was they'd always complain about the falling population.  Along with a few other vets, I'd speak up about it but with little effect.  Eventually they made me a provisional mod and I was really enthusiastic about making a difference--until I found the hidden "talk shit about the members" thread that was mostly ruled by the admin clique.  They behaved like they believed they were nobility with a god given right to govern.  Completely killed any loyalty I had to that place, which is actually why I ended up here.
