Forums - Gaming Discussion - Was Splatoon and it's sales the biggest story of 2015?

The biggest gaming news this year was by far the heart-breaking passing of Satoru Iwata in my opinion.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

One of the biggest for sure. Is the start of a new huge franchise for the industry.

Probably close in terms of positive stories. However, biggest story overall is without a doubt the Konami-Kojima fallout.

Definitely not biggest story, maybe one of the biggest, but that isn't really matter.

What's really matter is that Splatoon is probably biggest Nintendo win this gen, Splatoon is becoming huge new Nintendo IP, it literally will become Mario Kart or Smash Bros. of shooters. Really huge win for Nintendo.

I'd say it was rocket league. It's sold a lot more. Both were great successes though.

Rocket league 2as free for a whole month on psn though?

Iwata passing, ff7 remake, last guardian, shenmue 3, kojima/konami, NX platform are all much bigger.

And bigger still is the huge decline in halo sells with part 5 selling way below previous installments.

Biggest story? No, but definetely a nice surprise.

The Passing of Satoru Iwata is the biggest story of 2015 imo, due to the fact that it was so sudden and also his contributions to the gaming industry, whether you like the person or hate him.

Kojima - Konami's fallout is the 2nd biggest story of 2015. Plus it was so much fun to watch Konami making so many PR disaster and many bad decisions lol...

Splatoon and Rocket League are certainly in the top 10 biggest story of 2015 imo.

No. The biggest story of 2015 was Kojima leaving Konami.

Nothing stopping Nintendo doing that.  Psyonix should be commended for that genius move because it made it viral and now it'll blast past the 10m mark.
