Microsoft is better serve investing in a new North American Studio then spending money on trying to please it's dead Japaneses market.

Microsoft has done plenty in the past for Japanese market and they didn't budge. Lost Odyssey is still the best JRPG since its release yet that market didn't give an inch.

For a game to be a hit in Japan it needs a certain level of gimmicks involved in it. Ni No Kuni is a prime example. Average game outside of the Studio Ghibli collaboration.

Plus, Kojima's history with Playstation is obviously strong. There isn't anything MS could have done other than throw more money at him than Sony did, but in the end, I doubt this is not exactly a big loss for MS.

Sorry, but Ni No Kuni shits all over Lost Odyssey.

so why havent they kept Sakaguchi if they have done enough? or Team Artoon?

Sony hasn more western studios than Japanese, MS has no japanese studio

I guess MS could have thrown more money at him? Given their current worldwide standing I can't see this being a huge deal to them.

Fault just for not having a user base large enough, given that MG series enjoys a better attach rate too on Sony consoles. With a larger XBOne user base or attach rate, Kojima would have been incentivized to port his next games to that platform too, he didn't "snub" it out of spite, but just for lack of economic appeal, "snubbing" is a word unnecessarily excessive in this case, the only company with which Kojima is in a relationship so bad (and even worse, in that case "snubbing" would be his mildest possible attitude with it ) currently is his former publisher Konami.

Have fun waiting years and years before this Kojima game is even released. This is just more Playstation 4 "hype" with no substance whatsoever.

Lol, no. Ni no Kuni is definitely better than "Not Final Fantasy".

And I wouldn't say this is a big loss for Xbox. I mean, not many were buying Kojima games on there anyway.

By the time this game even comes out, it's going to be a different landscape for both consoles. I mean look at the gap between MGS 4 and 5 ..... that was 8 years. 8 YEARS !!!!!!!!!!

I feel the painful moaning of a poor hurting butt in a user I won't name. Here, may this relieve your pain, poor anonymous soul butt!

MS did try to get the Japanese market with the 360 and they didn't care. I do not blame MS for giving up with the XB1.

Even if the XB1 was on level terms with the PS4, it was always more than likely Kojima would do a deal with Sony.
