God of War: Ascension was not the most anticipated of PS3 exclusive games. Last of US, Uncharted 2, God of War and Uncharted 3 were. God of War had lesser reviews, compared to previous games because they were trying to get onto the multiplayer bandwagon and botched the effort. That and Trials of Archemedes spooked average gamers from playing god of war. It probably hindered many from beating the game. Mind you, I am comparing Zelda Botw with last of us because much like Horizon, it was a new IP last gen that Sony claimed would be their helm title. It worked out and Horizon should enjoy good sales. Sony didnt publicize God of War Ascension like 3 for a reason.

I have to disagree bigly here.... Sony has the most gaming fans this gen so far.... And has always had the biggest gaming community since the 90s....

Just because third party games sell millions doesn't mean Sony's first party won't.... Biggest games have mostly been third party so far.... 

Also expect horizon to outsell infamous in two weeks ;) that game is going to sell, this gen responds to highly reviewed games..... And low reviewed games..... Notice the order flopped, while Bloodborne was a success... 

 

How many copies did Bloodborne sell again?

zelda will sell more though, lots of people only buy nintendo consoles for its 1st party games..

Killzone was never a heavy hitter for Sony. It was a good good game but not a console seller as Sony wished it to be. As most reviwers have said, Guerilla Games have finally struck gold in a new genre.

Why are you looking for games that were never meant to be heavy hitters? I think you're doing this intentionally to artificiially weigh your argument.  THe last franchise Sony billed as being the future of their company was the The Last of Us. Beyond was never meant to be a heavy hitter. It should've sold better, but no first party company takes more risk than Sony when it comes to game development. I think by now that should be undisputed. Anyway, The last game you should be referencing is the Last of Us.

Horizon may be technically more advanced than Zelda, but Zelda may have potential for more sales. Plus, it´s a well known and well stablished franchise.

I personally don´t think there´s a competition here. Both games seems amazing and fun and I will enjoy both.
