Zelda OoT is released in 98", so definitely you can't have same impressions about game if you played it when was released in comparison if you played it 17 years later.
My point is that majority of people that consider OoT for best game ever played that game when was released, not around 15 years later.

But then you say OoT is still a very good game in 2015. And to me best game ever needs to stand the test of time and be awesome whether you played it on release or played it 17 years later. For the record I did only play it recently, but technological limitations of the time are not the reason I don't like the game very much.

I am very curious, when you played OoT?
When OoT was released in 98" it was pioneer in lotsa things and mechanics never seen before, (actualy OoT with M64 are one the most influenced games ever), also had one of the best graphics of that gen, phenomenal music...basically it was almost perfect game and thats reason why OoT is widely accepted like best game ever. But 17 years later in todays games those mechanics were improved, we having larger and more detailed worlds, certainly better graphics...so when you play 17 years later OoT you really can't see nothing new or something that doesn't exist in any other game, you can't really see great world or great graphics...but even 17 years later its still great game but definatly someone who playing OoT first time in 2015. will not say that game is best game ever.
