Forums - General Discussion - Forget Hi-Def! Glasses FTW!

So I got new glasses today. They are replacing my last pair that lasted me 5 years. The lens prescription has changed and my new frames make them even more different. They feel a bit different and make my peripheral vision curve towards the bottom of the lens. Moving my eyes and head around too much can make me a bit dizzy, BUT The new lenses allow me to see better than I had before. I have seemingly a Hi-Def view of the world around me now. w00t! GLASSES FTW!

I remember when I got glasses, it was like I had a whole different view of the world.

Lol that's the same experience I had when I started wearing contacts. I couldn't believe how clear everything was and how I hadn't realised that everything I had been seeing for the last three years or so was actually blury. Especially TV. At the time I only had a standard definition TV but remember telling my girlfriend that it was like i had upgraded to high definition.

You actually made a new thread about your new glasses?
Me? I use contacts, It's a lot better than glasses IMO.
Its comfortable and I always forget I'm wearing them(except for the fact that I can see clearly).
With contacts I can play sports a lot easier, and I can roll around in bed with my face buried in the pillows.
I used to think I could see clearly with my glasses but contacts took it up a whole new level. Comfortability and functionality.
Contacts are my Hi-Def ^_^

I noticed you used "including but not limited to. I've only seen that term used in important documents like contracts.

Also, I am curious about peoples' experiences with laser eye surgery.
Please share your experience if you had the surgery done. Thanks ^_^

iclim4 I tried contacts once, but I am ALWAYS at either my computer or playing games. When doing either I tend to blink less and my contacts would dry out quickly. That made them uncomfortable after awhile. So I have opted to stay with glasses. People say I look good with them. ^^

@Soriku: If your doctor says you should wear the glasses... well you know... you should wear them. If you noticed the difference, then perhaps contacts are more your style if you can't stand glasses.

I used to have that problem.
I forced myself to blink every 6 seconds for about 2 days everytime I was on the computer or watching TV, afterwhich blinking regularly while using the computer or watching TV just became a habit.
Though I think I always forget to blink when I'm playing SSBB.
("I think" because from memory I don't think I blink regularly but my eyes don't become dry anymore so I have no proof that I don't blink regularly when playing SSBB)
But I guess if glasses make you look better, stick with it.

Talking about glasses, you are obligated to post pictures!
You dedicated a whole thread about your new glasses, atleast show us what it looks like.
post something like "Does my new glasses look shmexay?" below the picture

(and yes, mm476 I stole your word ^_^)

Haha I know exactly what you mean! I walked around years without glasses, while knewing I kinda needed them, but meh. Since a year or so I'm wearing glasses and everything is in Hi-res now.
