Your Xbox is fine. Games take awhile to download and/or install, especially games with extremely large updates.

Also, Xbox One has had the ability to play while games install since launch, so Idk what AEGRO is going on about.

I agree.  Halo MCC let me begin Halo 1 in almost no time while everything else installed.  And the controller update is optional, only happens if you connect a USB cable, and choose the option.  It only takes a minute, too.

Op, your biggest problem is that youre updating to the New Xbox One Experience.  It takes a while.

I cant say on the download speeds because my internet is shit (4mbps), im just stating my opinion on physical disk installs.

Halo MCC took about 6 hours to fully install, kept stopping for no reason as well. Very annoying.

I have had mine a week, installs are the worst thing about the console. Followed by the fact the UI fully loads less than half of the time.

Exactly. The first time that ive ever seen a FUCKING controller update was with the Xbox One. What the fuck is that!? LOL

Im going to narrate what was my first experience with the console, which i bought from the Gears of War bundle deal from Amazon a month ago.

1) Turn ON the console. It demands an update. Yup, not optional, you HAVE to update the console to use it.

2) The console was updated a couple of hours later. I want to play COD Black Ops 3. Well, bad luck for me, the game has to install on the console even tho it is a physical copy. I was thinking, well who cares about 5 minutes more. I was wrong, the game took more than 30 minutes to fucking install on the console.

3) Phew, the game is installed finally. Im going to play the game. Well, fuck me, the controller needs to update. One more hour to go...

4) At last, the motherfucking controler (?) is updated! Lests play the game...uh oh! The game NEEDS to be updated. Fuuuuuuuuuu...

5) So the game updated. After more than 5 hours im playing the fucking game. Hurrah...

6) My internet went down. Say Buh Bye to the pins on your Home Screen.

God, i hate so much the Xbox OS. IMHO the Ps4 OS is WAY better. Faster, simpler, more videogame focused.

You really need to chill out.

1. When I updated my controller it took maybe 5 minutes over wifi so I call BS on taking an hour.

Ps4 OS is faster Huh? Every test I've seen comparing the New xbox OS to the PS4, the Xbox is faster everytime.

That too. Sometimes i think that my internet is down because the UI did not load but no, the internet is fine. I have to log out from my account and log in again so the system loads all the icons and my pins. It is very annoying.

Well first of all that's not even true. You can play CoD AW before the install counter reaches 100%. I finsihed the first SP mission before it was fully installed.

Other than that, is ~30min really a problem? Can't you do something else in the meantime? Hell you can even play some digital game while you wait for it to finish . There are enough games (be it F2P, GwG, EA Access or digitally bought games) to choose from.

first world problems.

* Black Ops 3

Second of all, im from Venezuela so you should say "Third World" problems. Maybe it is the Xbox One that is a second rate console because i havent seen this type of things on my Ps4.

In order to play Black Ops 3 from the DISK, you HAVE to install the game before, which takes easily half an hour.

Thank God for the people that demands better, if it was for people like you the Xbox One would be a DRM machine.

and yet the PS4 has mandatory installs as well and you don't seem to care. Guess you're part of the problem too then lol.

I can't remember what game it was it might of been Black flag but apparently it took over an hour to install on Xbox one but only 30-60 seconds on ps4. The xb1 is slower at install things it's a fact, dunno whether yours is broke though.

Except it's not.

PS4 installs just as slow as X1, it's just that the PS4 has a better file system, where certain files that are necessary for booting the game are prioritised during installs and/or the console is being able read the files from disc to boot the game.

Well this is huge lie.

I changed my HDD on my ps4 to 2tb the other week and had to install everything again. I just poped each disc for batman, the witcher 3, bloodbourne, diablo 3, destiny taken king, infamous second son and it took each no more than a minute without the updates, then I downloaded all the updates together and let it sit over night with the digital version of driveclub and the order 1886 and a few free indy games tht ive gotten. all that was over 350gb of data and it was done fairly quickly, especially the installs from the disc wich my litle nephew has destiny too and I installed it on his x1 and it took like 4 hours, from the disc as well. And yea, he could pplay other digital games while that happened, but that is still unacctpable with todays tech.

it's not a lie. It's called knowledge and honestly, you don't posses much technical knowledge then, if you really think that a 50GB disc can be installed on a regular HDD within 60 seconds.

What it probably does (and you confuse it with) is that as soon as you put in the disc, the console reserves the space the game needs on the HDD and installs it for said minute. Then (after swapping various other discs) when you put the first disc in again, it will simply continue with the install, but you won't notice much as the game is already bootable.

I agree that 4 hours install time is unacceptable and I don't know how the PS4 does it, but the X1 does the game install and update download in one go, so that might be the reason why the install appeared so long.

When i had my Xbox One, it took more than 6 hours to install MCC.
