Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Temporarily Raises Digital Game Prices Ahead Of Launching New Promotion On PlayStation Store

Tagged games:

It's common practice to raise prices back up to MSRP before beginning a new sale. All retailers do this, as promotional discounts are generally based on the MSRP listing.

Lmfao! Sony is gonna feel the burn tomorrow, just like they was with the PSX 2015.

I felt the same sadness when Best Buy did the same for their B2G1 free sale.

Well, bad guy Sony should be stacking discounts so that they can take a loss.

Fuck capitalism and companies trying to stay in business.

This basically, it isn't that they're attempting to scam people but they're just removing any outstanding offers which might have been in place such as the ongoing cuts on the psn store to games to make this offer appear slightly better than it is...

That said, the offer is still giving you 2 games for the price they had been asking for 1 of them, I'm not sure what the issue is here.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

No unusual, seems a common practice lately.

I have been hoping for some big sales on my Steam wish-list and some older Xbox One titles I am looking to pick up digitally....no go so far.

Don't even get me started about game discounts for titles I want to pick up for my Wii U.

Happens a lot and various companies do this...

During the Christmas and Summer Vacation times, toy stores, clothing shops etc will do this to make more money. Unfortunate, but common :/

Well, if that is true. Sounds pretty terrible to me. Why do something like this when you're trying to have a sale? Sounds a bit underhanded to me. Seeing sony do this makes me frown : (

i know is a common practice, but this was unnecessary. hope they learn from this mistake. also, no one is forcing anyone into this promotion, if people can get it cheaper, go for it, why waste time complaining. i'm all for giving feedback on the matter (informing SCEE that people can buy it [insert store name here] for a cheaper price tag and that people is aware of the price raise), but raging and name calling is as unnecessary as the practice it self.
