I honestly love that this game is falling far short of sales expectations... I found it a little ridiculous that the franchise stabbed the Playstation (aka the series of consoles that have most supported said franchise) in the back, but much more than that, I wish gloom and doom upon every "timed exclusive".

That practice needs to die lol, I hope this is a significant enough failure to dissuade them and others from doing it again... But somehow no one loses their job over it as I'd feel like a dick for writing this.

I wonder how hard of a time MS is going to have getting timed exclusives after this. This was a huge bomb pretty much every franchise puts themselves at risk now signing any sort of exclusivity with MS. MS better hope this game turns around and does amazing on the rest of the systems that way devs  will feel like it's less of a risk.

I have to imagine people will be less willing to sign on for a timed exclusive. At the very least, it'll cost microsoft more.

It's really just asshole behavior... I rather doubt the knowledge that one console is getting a game a bit earlier than another has been the deciding factor in anyone's choice of system. All it serves to do is piss off a bunch of people and strain the relations between the fans and the devs.

I can't say I really care either way cause I'm almost never in a rush to play games and often I have a long list of games I need to beat. With that said your right timed exlucsives have never ever even made me think twice about which console to choose. The only game I can think of that could get me to do that is a new Mass Effect game.

December 5th in the US. sales are not looking good
This will definitely be on games for gold and ps plus in a few years. Hopefully the ip isn't too damaged to get a proper sequel.

No, I doubt it's that far gone... the multiplat launch and a PC port will stretch her legs...

I said in a few years

I wasn't addressing that part of your comment...

Hopefuly Square will realize that the other factors were the main issue here not the franchise.

But what if they've damaged the franchise long term? What if Playstation gamers by the series way less from now on

That'd be a proud display of favoritism that might hurt the PS4's image... I don't expect them to buy the game with a $60 price tag though...

They release lower budget titles there...

You're right and I hate it! PS+ on PS3 was so great. We'd get good games every month. I'm not saying we need AAA games all the time but the ones we get are awful! All these Pixel-Art BS games and low quality nonsense. Mobile has better games than the games that are offered on PS+. They can do better. Even though they're "free" I still don't download them.

I literally was astonished when I realized the contrast between PS+ and GWG as well...

Correlation, dependency, causality, hard to tell. But somehow Sony thought the deal might be worth it. We don't know what would've happened otherwise.

it would have still sold better on PS like every other multiplat did at that time. Why think TR would ahve been an exception.

With that logic the XONE deserves no exclusives!

Whan the Playstation Plus launched on PS3 there was already plenty of good titles out to makes it so PS+ had great value, expecting the same to happen on PS4 was simply not possible, it's a service who gains value as the generation goes.

Would still takes ages to see Tomb Raider on it though.

The XONE has had a fair share of AAA free GWG. Thief is on December's list! For December, PS+ only has Gauntlet and King's Quest. I expected The Order and the Oneechanbara to make it at least...

Compare this

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2015/11/25/ps-plus-free-games-for-december-2015/

With this...

http://majornelson.com/2015/11/24/xbox-live-games-with-gold-for-december-2015/

And all of them can be downloaded on the same console...

It damaging no ps4 image if they don't go out in their hoards to buy it a year late. And many will have played it on PC.

I would have bought it but I'll wait a few years and get it on ps plus or else never. uncharted 4 will have satisfied my adventure thirst by then.

Depends on their reasoning not to buy it...

The reason is obvious.  Sloppy 3rds.  The blame lies on the people delivering it late not the people who refused to be hyped on a year late release.

PS4 ROTR will definitely outsell that every other platform, but it'll still flop. Old games are old games, SE would be lucky if Sony even contributed to the Advertising deal,

Their best chance is for a definitive edition, and even then expect performance to be far worse than LOTR.

game would have done better had it not been exclusive, people would have bought it on PS4 and PC, thats just common sense.

Eh, it's not common sense, it's only logical. MGSV sold more because it also released on last gen consoles. The more platforms, the more sales.

bad comparison, how well did MGSV do on the last gen consoles? pretty bad, how well would have TR done on PS4 and PC at the very least as good or better than Xone version judging by the sales of the series on platforms in the past. We can play we dont know what would have happened, but you know in your heart its true.

It's not about how good it does but what brings money and you can be sure that Konami made money off the last-gen console versions. It's money the industry is about. Of course there is a correlation between sales and money, nobody is arguing that.

Yep.

After the launches of Street Fighter V, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo Sports beta, Gravity Rush, Persona 5 (hopefully), Final Fantasy XV, No Man's Sky, maybe The Last Guardian, of course Uncharted 4... And up against Horizon (surely) and other classic multiplat heavy hitters at the end of the year, nobody will care about a 1 year old game.

Sony surely won't advertise it, it won't be at E3, Gamescom or TGS, the reviews won't be on the front pages, so it won't do good, even if it can still beat the Xbox One sales (not too hard to do...).

They want sales numbers? Their best chance is the first Steam sales with a $20 game (like the reboot). Their money is surely already lost, and I think they already accepted it.

Games with Gold. At the rate it goes, they'll eventually cycle through the whole inventory...

So not free then

Free for everyone who owns a XONE... I literally don't know a XONE owner who has no XBL Gold membership.

A XONE without XBL is like a computer without internet...

Yes thats pretty much what its like but its not free.
