When you did think nothing worst can happen with the moderation in this site... boom they get a new low level in a way I need to risk a new ban (or peharps a perma) to talk about this subject in pro of the community grow and safe.

Censorship

This is the new rule (not added in the rule pages) used by Mod Team to try to deal with considered (by them) bad users.
No matter you like me or not...

Censorship is something wrong.

What is Censorship to begin?

What the Mod Team is doing right now?

Better than explain I will just copy/past the messages I'm receiving from the Mod Team to you VGCharter's user think about and have you own reasonable opinon about the subject:

"You aren't getting moderated but I am now imposing a ban on all future posts by you, you are hereby banned from mentioning anything to do with the Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or the Xbox version of any game, and any Xbox exclusive, even if done respectfully, and even if you try to skirt the rules by using implication rather than direct reference." (Mod 1 replying about the NPD thread where a big game indded flopped)

"First of all, the topic ban still stands from me, I want you to avoid referencing or making implications towards the Xbox console, or posting in a manner which could be considered baiting, trolling or flaming against Xbox fans on VGC, this isn't a permanent topic ban but one I feel needs to be put in place for a while." (Mod 1 about the same subject posted  before because he just well thought a little more about the subject)

"We are reaching our limit, ethomaz. It's time for you to change your attitude towards general Xbox discussion or your access to these forums will be removed.)" (Mod 2 with more blackmailed thinks about removing access to the forum)

"You have been told multiple times by multiple moderators to stay out of general Xbox discussion" (Mod 2 about another ban)

There are more discussion about but the key point was they are trying to censorship me using the word ban to put fear in people heads.

What do you think the mod team needs to do?

I don't know because I'm not in the position of the mod team but Censorship is not the right path to "promoting a healthy environment for everyone to post in". I always had the ideia I couldn't be a mod because I was too fanboy or biased to moderate others users.

But today I think in my biased/fanboy way I'm too honest to be unfair with any side and maybe I could have done better ideias to create a mod team that do the right thing at the same time being repected by everybody.

Anyway I can be tottaly wrong too and just create caos here...

Why are you posting this in face a ban?

I talked a lot with Axum in previous years about the moderation here with fair and reasonable discussion from both sides and I tried in a lot of years change most moderation way of thinking to create a better community but in the end I gave up.

Not all the mods have the same way to thinking... some agree with me, others not.

This time it was so low that I need to make this thread to alarm users for a possible Censorship happening in the future for others users... that is bad and it needs to be fight agains no matter how you like the Mod Team or not.

So I put my ass on te front to recieve the hate and show the community something terrible wrong is happening here.

What you do expected to happen?

To be fair nothing... they maybe won't change their tone but at least I put in discussion with the community hopping it grows in the future and people learn from mistakes.

Said that I hope everybody have a nice day discussing games sales (the main pourpose of this forum)... tomorrow is a new NPD day and I already can tell you guys disappointing things are coming again.

I like you 😐, but you can be over the top in your excitement about Sony winning. 😆 I think it's funny actually. You don't hide behind fake feelings and tell it how it is. You are honest about being a fanboy and I commend your honesty. I think you are a good user in that you stir up discussiona and get people's juices going. The fun is in the debating and then making up and being friends again.

My suggestion to you is to not be so "In your face, Xbox is losing to people." Not everyone has thick skin and are quick to report. For the people that you do know, and know you can play with, you can mock them a bit, but not so much that other people might see it as flaming.

Stay with us. Don't take things so much to heart when you think you have been wronged.

Oh, that's right. You were banned. Anyway, ethomaz, I've appreciated your posts, but if you get banned rightfully or unjustly, it is what it is. Don't sweat it. I like this site, I like these forums, I like the people here (I think...) But when I get banned, its' like "eh. whatever." When I first signed up, I was averaging like 13 posts a day. Then, my daughter was born, and my post count dropped to 2 posts a day. So no big deal. What I love about this site is there is such a diversity of news, view points, and avenues to other sources of info. But when I get banned, this site is not THAT important to me. Anyway, have fun.

lol... its just a gaming forum man.. relax.. so you hit the limit on xbox trolling according to the mods.. worst stuff happens in the world, plenty of other sites to visit, plenty of games to be playing.. its just a gaming forum.

Yeap I'm fine with my bans and I really don't miss of care that much when I got baneed.

I made this thread to report a behavior that can't be accepted in any community... if they we will see what is wrong or not it is not in my hands... I did my part.

They didn't ban me for trolling but for post in a Xbox sub-forum.

BTW I didn't even know which sub-forum I post... I just post in hot topics... I don't care if it is Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony or others... if a game flopped then I will say so.

I think certain things need to be made clear by the mod team asap.

Censorship in dictator states is very common to mute the opposition groups and oppress them to govern without any problems

It seems to me that they're actually avoiding censorship by saying "you keep breaking the rules in connection with certain topics, so you can stay, as long as you stop getting involved with those topics". In other words, the alternative would be a permaban.

Which would you prefer? A permaban, or a partial ban on certain topics of discussion? I know which one I'd choose.

Guess what - it's not censorship, because the owners/moderators of this site are under no obligation to provide a platform for you to speak. It would be censorship if they used legal force to ban you from talking about something under any circumstance, or removed parts of what you said from an official recording (media), etc.

Kind of like how a movie theatre could have you removed for shouting "PENIS" during a movie, repeatedly. It's not censorship if they come to you and say "you stop shouting that, or you will be removed from the theatre".

Prove to the moderators that you can remain civil - stay away from those topics for the time being, and demonstrate your ability to remain civil. And maybe, just maybe, they'll reconsider the ban, and instead just return you to a regular kind of "stay in the rules" state.

I really dont like this way of thinking. Its how it always starts, something unimporrtant gets hit, and people dont care, then something a little better and so on and so on, by hte time it hits something you really care about or are just willing to fight for, its already the norm and everyone else is doing it. This is why saying a joke about women even in private can get you fired from your job and it could have been avoided if people stud up to feminist at the start of all this. Now you want to roll over to this, on a place wwwhere is suposed to be a safe space of some sort cuz the loosing team is taking it too hard? I say no.

I agree with ethomaz here. This is something that canot go on. If nobody complains they will add more ridiculous little rules that will eventually drive people away and the only fun will be had will be just wwatching the sales chart.
