As for the OP I'm fairly shocked by the fact that FF7 is going to be diced up and canibalised for the most money possible, to say that the game is going to be a lot bigger not well... it's still a 50 hour or so rpg at it's core, you can make it flashier looking but if the core of the game is already made for you then the issue here is just they want to spend a lot of time building up the HD area's and as such charge us multiple times as the game is completed, if that is cut into 5 or so portions as seems to be the norm then you're looking at paying for 10 hour sections of the game, what are the chances of being able to navigate around the world as you want to?

I know obviously it's going to be a large costly game to make... but at the time when FF7 was made it was the most expensive video game ever made... but it was still launched as a single game, not cut into slivers in the hope to make even more money out of it by drip feeding us bits of a game.

It's bollocks imo, if they want to make the remake then make it, but don't cut it up and hold people to ransom selling portions of a game which is designed as a complete story.

I agree. It's unacceptable, but as long as certain people put up with taking crap like it's some kind of addiction, nothing's going to change and things will get even worse. Though we should refrain from calling out FFVII-R for now because we don't know enough.

Well from someone who has spended over $500 AUD on 4 free to play games on PC. I just basically accept how these companies will try different tactics to make people spend more of their money.

Tis the gen that is moving digital and where companies expand ways to make more money

I love my Wii U. Its got a ton of gems if you're informed.

Haven't picked up a PS4 just yet.

Anyone my age or more should recognise that modern gaming is complete garbage relative to the 90's. The younger generation probably think DLC/Micro transactions are the norm and always have been.

It's in our hands. don't buy DLC's, don't buy incomplete games, if we don't buy it, it will stop.

I'm really scared of the acceptance of the public of multiplayer blocked by a fee in consoles. It seems a lot of people just asume that they will have to pay every week/month/year to access a content you already paid. If this becomes the norm, we will see fees in some PC servers, like Origin or even some Steam games. This is a game breaker for me, I don't buy any console that makes you pay to access a multiplayer you already paid when you bought the game.

This is just a direct continuation to the 7th gen. It's also the reason I'm in no hurry to get an 8th gen console. It's pretty nice to be primarily a PC gamer. ^^ It also helps that I'm not too interested in a lot of so-called AAA titles anymore, mostly due to the evolution of the business during this and the previous generation (as complained about in the first post).
