Forums - Nintendo Discussion - IGN has put over 50 hours into Xenoblade X, and still has no review! - THeir review is up!

Weird, I feel like I'm the only one who's enjoying XCX more than Xenoblade. But that's because what I loved the most of the first XC was the combat system and the exploration. I can understand why some people think that the game is inferior because it's not story-based. And I think the cons he put on the review were worse in XC. For example, inventory management was painful. Every time I had to sell/throw items because of how small it was, and that's really tiresome. And XC has a very good story (though it takes ages to speed up), but not so good storytelling. As I said, I think that it depends on what you're looking on the game. XCX is like a dream for me. Just what I wanted, and just what I expected, and one of the best JRPGs I've ever played (at least, in the first 30 hours).

Hmph, the review was good, but not great. He didnt mention the use of the gamepad, and the "mini-game" that it has.But I never agree with the score.I mean, in the review, he pratically just says good things about it, praises the gameplay, world, Skells, exploration and all, and the positives things far outweight the negatives.(Thats what I get from his review)It all looks like to be a score around 9.But then he goes and give 8.2.I really like IGN review in general, but I almost never agree with the score(in comparison to the written review)

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I'm looking forward to playing it, yet it will have to wait for now. I'm 120 hour into Fallout 4 and still only at the beginnings of the main story. Too many distractions.

I think I will like this because it is not like Xenoblade.
I dont like Japanese RPGs like the Xeno series that are a lot about anime characters and the final boss is god.
This seems more like a "realistic" sci fi story about manking colonizing another planet after Earth had to be abandoned, and it seems to be focused more on exploration and gameplay than story.
It kinda reminds me of Actraiser, an action game that also had a world building simulator in it.

I havent bought it because it will only be in a couple of weeks in my country, and I think this game will be very expensive in the future, so I want the retail copy.

I'd like to wait until the game goes cheaper but not sure how long that'll be since it's a Nintendo game.

Your amazingly patient, motivated and whatever other amazing quality I can throw at you. That's a lot of hours!

Don't forget sleep deprived :p My ocd tends to get out of hand with editors. Here, all build from scavenged materials, no cheats apart from circumventing the size limits (on ps4). Completely and utterly pointless :)

I bet I'll spend more time on Rainbow Moon than IGN on XCX.

I'm almost 40 hours in and I can't understand why people say Xenoblade X has no story. So far, the story is really good, and looks promising! Exploring Mira is the best thing ever, I'm really impressed by how much I like it, you have so many things to do that it's sometimes overwhelming.
I wouldn't give less than 8.8 to this game, the only thing I think was better in Xenoblade wii was the music, but even if this time it's not a masterpiece, it's really good, with great tracks as the battle theme, noctilus theme and my favourite so far, the cave's theme.
I couldn't recommend this game more, just buy it and enjoy :)

I fully respect IGN's beat the game before reviewing policy and Jose for taking his time with the game. Read the review and it seems pretty well written. I disagree with some points, but that comes down to personal taste.
