Better not just be the smash direct.

Pokemon Z might be it, though if it is Pokemon I'm wondering if it will be the 7th gen games instead. That would certainly qualify more as "big" than just a third version game. 2016 would be the right year for gen 7 to launch based on the patterns in the franchise. All gens have been 3 years between except for Diamond and Peal to Black and White's 4 years.

Anyone know how this big announcement will be revealed? Like on an Interview? on Twitter? A Video?

We got the X and Y announcement exactly 3 years ago this January. So this would be right around the same time of year they announced the last gen games.

Is it Nintendo finally convincing third parties to come to their senses and realize that putting non-sci fi/military shooters and non-racing games on Xbone while giving Nintendo shaft is dumb as M$ owners only care about sci fi/military shooters and racing games and Nintendo owners actually care about different games?

Probably Smash related or maybe Splatoon DLC.
