Replace "real" with "traditional" and it's pretty accurate.

Who the heck says any of that? Those games are considered some of the best games in their respective genres. Heck Splatoon just won the best shooter of the year in the VGAs. These threads just feel clickbaity and almost made to start some kind of war between the fanbases when there is nothing to be fighting over.

Yes, with maybe the exception of mario Kart unless they don't want to count sales when Comparing to other racers :o

With 7 billion and more on this planet I don't think it's a question of "has anyone actually said this" to "who says this?". I'd most likely point you to youtube or sites that harbor vitriol with platform wars, I've seen my fair share of "nintendo is for kiddies, Nintendo only makes games for kids and no one else" type comments so seeing what T-bone wrote isn't something too far off from being said by at least one person on this planet.

I actually had an interesting read on gaf and you won't believe how many people don't consider splatoon as a shooter. (splatoon wins Shooter of the year thread)

If a video game company cannot produce good strategy games, then it's not a real video game company. Fire Emblem? Advance Wars? Never heard of 'em, what the hell are those things??

I think you mean people claim nintendo games are for kids and therefore not real for them.

Fair enough but I disagree. I agree that Nintendo make games for kids it's just most of their fans started playing them when they were kids but are now grown up.

I can relate to this as a Playstation gamer because I grew up with crash and spyro games aimed at kids and teenagers.

If they still made good games for them I'd still buy them. But I still buy the younger targeted games. I'm a big fan of ratchet and clank which is funny because I was ashamed to admit it when I was young :D

Now that I'm older I realise a few of my friends actually have it!

It's hard to tell if the OP is serious but if he/she is I think I gave a good answer.
