"...it's probably the best one I've heard since FF13."
That game had a terrible dub. What on earth have you been playing that was worse?

Nintendo did a good job with casting the VA's.

Dub sounds great so far, I have no complaints.
...though I wish Elma could stop saying "SLIDING SLINGER!"

Still would prefer Japanese Audio as well, but that's just me :p

With most games I'd agree; I played Fatal Frame 5 in Japanese, for example.
With XCX though, as with XBC, I prefer English. Maybe cos there's so much to think about at once that I didn't need the extra mental workload of compulsively trying to test my awful grasp of Nipponese by trying to understand it without reading the subtitles. XD
I like Xenoblade Chronicles' VA more, those english accents are the best :P
The only voice I don't like in X is Tatsu's the rest are all very good.

If you believe that FF13 had a terrible dub, I can't imagine how you experienced Xenoblade or really any JRPG made in past several years.
Voice acting is great, but lip syncing, facial/body animations are horrible. All the characters look lifeless. And the silent protagonist route doesn't fit this game at all. They really need to go back to the linear story driven game that the first one was (although that also suffered from terrible lip syncing).
