He didn't say jack shit about technology or hardware. *shrugs* Is it easier to accept that the game is not coming to the wii u if the devs are shown in a bad light?

"It's just a thread" to validate my perception by others agreeing with me that those devs slighted nintendo fans (when that's not really the case). I'm just mad the game isn't coming to the wii u. *cough*

This is simply a case of some people misunderstanding what a dev said.

Maybe they were talking about it not being profitable or economically possible on Wii U. At least I hope that's the case cause that game would run on a Wii.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

You are probably right. When asked about an android version the answer had nothing to do with technical limitations: "No plans for iOS/Android. Premium games don’t do well on those, and adapting the controls to a touchscreen would be rough."

This game reminds me of Muramasa: The Demon Blade for the Wii.

Yeah, and hearing from others that the game would possibly come out in 2018, it makes less sense to release it on the Wii U. The NX will be well out by then, so waiting for the NX is def a better choice.

Oh, it's coming out in 2018? Then releasing it on the WiiU wouldn't make sense anyway.

Its obvious, for game like this you clearly need at least power of PS4, this game probably will run at 480p on XboxOne. :)

It does not necessarily mean the console is too weak. This has bothered me for some time now when people overreact to this. "Technically impossible" could mean the engine the game runs on only works on other architectures. It could mean they wrote the code in a way that makes it "technically impossible" to port the game to the Wii U without putting lots of resources into it (they'd have to rewrite half the game, basically).

For instance: We use Ionic as a framework to develop our apps. Ionic-built apps only work on iOS and Android devices. So for us, it is "technically impossible" to port our apps to Windows Phone (without re-writing them completely). That doesn't mean Windows Phones are weaker than Android phones or iPhones. It just means it is technically impossible for us to port our apps in their current state.

Considering it will release in 2018, I'm not surprised they are waiting for the NX. At least they are polite about it, Nicalis threw that rant complaining of the WiiU with the Binding of Isaac update.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

The issue is the obvious connotation of the statement, that the implied idea that most will take away is that the Wii U is incapable of running the game on a technological level.  And all devs know this, they say it this way on purpose.  Rather than take responsibility for their decisions themselves - saying " we have no plans" or "we don't have the resources" etc - they intentionally pass the buck by putting the weight of the statement on the Wii U, implying the system is incapable of it rather than acknowledging they personally can't or won't put in the leg work for to port.  Its just PR spin, like big companies do, to sugar coat their decisions.  That's what people don't likem

Sick and tired of coments like this that transforms every complain into "oh you are salty", if I want the freaking game I buy it on steam, what a problem uh?

If a developer is LYING, then we can complain about the lies, period. And is pretty obvious the intention behind this tweet, everyone that reads it has that same impression: they make it sound like WiiU is uncapable of. Why? because is the easy way, everybody already thinks the wiiu is very weak thanks to the bad PR of a lot of companies before so they get on the train, wich is easier than to explain the reality. Is painfully obvious. The only complain here is about the reasons they give, not about a random indie game that almost nobody knows at the moment not coming on WiiU.
