You are asking The Force Awakens to be over twice as successful (talking "inflated gross") as the original Star Wars. I highly doubt that is going to happen.

Only two movies have ever grossed $2 billion (not adjusted for inflation).

Only Avatar came close to $3 billion, with ~$2.7 billion. That was only in 2009, ticket price inflation hasn't had that far to run in that time.

This could be the first non-James Cameron movie to top $2 billion, and I really hope it is. But $3 billion is just too much to expect, letalone $3.5 billion.

Hmmm anything is possible I guess Wasn't the Phantom Menace like a $1bil movie? With all the hype getting pumped out and the nostalgia being everywhere I could see it reach $2.5 bil max. However, if it does break $3.5bil then I will be very impressed
