Okay. So I was in this thread here and wanted to post my reply. But after brainstorming a few ideas about my dream Naruto game I'm just going to share them here. This is purely hypothetical and would most likely never happen; but it's always fun to get creative right? :)
Disclaimer: While I did enjoy early Naruto, it's far from my favorite anime. Just putting that out there. However I do think the world/characters can make up a great game universe.
Anyway. Let's get started:
So. The game would be Ps4/Xbone/Pc exclusive. Sorry Dreamcast lovers. It would be completely open world. And not a gimmick. I mean a LEGIT open world. You start out as EITHER Naruto, or an unnamed ninja that you create. Say you start as a little kid. Then you proceed with quests/trials as you get older and get through exams and what not in order to become a more experienced ninja. Of course you would take missions around leaf as well as (when you get older) more dangerous ones into the sand, sound, mist villeges ect.
I'm thinking missions would scale with your age IE as a kid you go on some fetch this cat in a tree for an old lady, defeat your kid rival in some sport, ect. Somewhat light stuff.
As you get older though you go on fight missions, saving people, assassinations, ect. I really think an M rating would be fucking AWESOME but a T is a must. Not E.
Here is the kicker though. Naruto has 3 man squads right? ONLINE CO OP. You can play with your friends in a squad and rank up from the very beginning. Since it's open world; I believe the Borderlands co op difficulty scaling would be perfect depending on if you have 1 or 2 members with you.
As for gameplay. Open world and ninjaplatforming (i'm trademarking it) would be easy and fun. Fighting would take place in the open world on a 3d plane. Basically Ultimate ninja esque but with more areas to go/hide in.
The story would follow the anime. Not some off side story. I think main anime/tv shows almost ALWAYS have better storylines compared to games that make some weird story of their own.
Anyway. That's my idea. I would so prop 60 bucks on this.
Thoughts?
