Forums - Gaming Discussion - Worth it? MGSV on Xone sold 400K WW so far.

Was it worth it?

Konami just shot themselves in the foot... 88 52.69%

It was worth it.Atleast K... 79 47.31%

Total:167

Was it worth it: the delay, the scandal and the sales?

In all likelihood it could've sold more than that on PS4 if it was exclusive due to some Sony fanboys buying it because it was exclusive who may not have been interested in it otherwise.

I can't imagine how low the sales for games like FFXV and KH3 will be.

Console Exclusive could've been. Sony could have promoted it more in USA+the LE console could've made it in America but Alas, Destiny:TK got the September spot.

MGS should have become a PS exclusive after MGS 1 on PS1. Sony should have paid to keep it there because it's clear that people who buy Playstations, buy Metal Gear.

Why would the scandal have anything at all to do with multi platform sales?

It could've been a happy ending for Konami and Kojima a bit if he made the deadline.

Are you saying multiplatforms takes shorter to make than ummm an exclusive/console exclusive?

Easy to port. Especially if you keep in mind it's on PC as well and the engine was already ported for Ground Zeroes.

I don't think Konami would've made more money with it being exclusive.

Was it like copy and paste? You seemed to know a lot.

Doubt exclusivity would of made them more money 400k + 100k for 360 + the standard 20% digital sales = estimate of 600k which gives us a potential $36,000,000 revenue from the Xbox versions which isn't small by any means.

Revenue vs profits. Are you saying money can't be made in another way? The game could've been released sooner and have probably got out of the Destiny Taken King's launch window. if they concentrated on the relevant platforms. It's actually possible that MGSV was held back and considering the deficiencies of the Xbox One. It's not hard to imagine some things, y'know when you consider all the possibilities.
