I got pretty much all the Japanese games for my ps3.

Got 287 ps3 games. 

Maybe 20% are japanese.

And even ro think ps4 is just 2 years old yet having an huge japanese support.

2 million isn't a huge install base especially that we are now a third of the way through with this generation. You think Japanaese publishers like those numbers? That is why they publishers like Konami are going the mobile route.

Interesting and suprising. I too was a little saddened by the state of Japanese games in the previous gen. So many great series like Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and Final Fantasy had such a drop in quality. There are enough Japanese games coming out next year to sustain the ratio in this list, but apart from Dark Souls 3 and Persona, I wouldn't expect any of them to get a plus 90 score (DS3 is borderline as I suspect a lot of the reviews will cite "fatigue" with this series and we'll get a score around 87 overall).

There are exceptions to any rule but I tend to find that Japanese studios will spend a lot of time on a game making sure its really well made before releasing it (this is simply their culture, which is why they dominate the motor and electronic industries). Unfortunately what you end up getting are games like Final Fantasy XV and The Last Guardian which have been in development hell for years. Uncharted 1, 2, 3, 4 and Last of Us will have come out of Naughtydog in the same time Studio Japan has been working on LTG lol. Wtf!! However, time = quality so its often worth the wait. Look at the Red Dead sequel. RDR came out in 2009 and we haven't even gotten an announcement for the sequel, 6 years later. It'll probably be great though.

Though to be fair OP does give some recognition by implying that The Witcher 3 is the best non-Japanese 8th gen game.

He could've just listed the 5 90+ Japanese games without mentioning anything about TW3.

and a lot of them arent who are pumping out game after game and most of the times not on Xbox, thats why you dont see Japanese games the way i do you play on the wrong console

I think it's pretty clear that I listed all the 8th gen games with 90+ metascore and then proceeded to point out that 5 of those 6 titles Japanese.

Dude, give it a rest. Console sales have been on a decline in Japan since the PS2, and things are only getting worse. Japanese devs are very much aware of this, which is why so many of them are moving to mobile gaming, and, those who arent, are either shifting their focus to the much more lucrative western markets, or working with a very low budget in hopes of breaking even in the ever-shrinking Japanese market. Hell, a lot of japanese games are even coming to Steam now. Why do you think that is?
