Forums - Sales Discussion - Some Black friday info from infoscout

Well, Infoscout might not be the ultimate source, but according to them, console sales weren't as strong as last year. Bundles sold well, with X1 GoW bundle being the top seller at one retailer: http://blog.infoscout.co/games-trump-console-sales-this-black-friday/

Not sure how reliable they are.

Oh, do you interpret this as being just about Target? " The top console bundle pick this year was the Xbox One 500gb with Gears of War, which Target discounted to $299 (down from $350) and threw in a $60 gift card."

I guess it sorta makes sense, but I thought the first part of the sentence was across all retailers, and only the second part was specifically bout target. But you might be right. Xb one may have been #1 at Target, but Infoscout has not yet said what console was #1 across all retailers.

Curious.

Ah, you're right, I read it wrong :). Exactly, they are pretty vague other than the statement that games were selling well.

I was about to say you were happy with the confusion and suggestion that MS was first. My appologies.

I don't interpret it being just Target.  That makes little sense when looking at the overall.

It could have been number 1 as a specific bundle, while Xbox One still being number 2 overall when considering all the other bundles.

I take it as this was the top pick, greatly because of this at target.

Overall I think it is most likely the PS4 that won.

Exactly.  The NDC bundle was split into two flavors.

How do games trump console sales, and consoles take a backseat to games if Consoles + console bundles = 47.8% vs 44.1% for games. Unit wise no contest of course.

Well, I got from a source that around half the games sold on Black Friday were digital - give or take a few %. I do not know if that includes the digital download in bundles - I think it didn't.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

How did need for speed rivals get so high sales? Was it like 10 bucks or so during black Friday?
