Yes, but that's why I called them "legendary;" the franchises above that are actually Sony franchises (not FF or MGS) have nowhere near the legacy of Nintendo's. It's not a matter of preference, just time.

A high number like that would be compelling argument that "NX" refers to a platform containing both Handheld and Console.

I guess, I mean those are the only franchises that have been rehashed generation after generation.... and they sell to majority of nintendo console owners

Honestly, with the recent Halo launch being relatively underwhelming, it's shocking that these franchises are still chugging along, after 30 some odd years.

Ah, so similar to how the Wii U Gamepad is an add on to the Wii.

Why people need to buy 2 versions, handheld and home console are quite different, how many 3DS owners have Wii U!? Definitely not many, theoreticly in best case one of five.
You realise that 3DS/Wii U combined had shipment around 15-20m in their first year!? So it not unusual that Nintendo is targeting 20m of NX devices in first year.

Who says people need to buy two versions? You only need one as both devices are rumoured to share a library, it's pretty much certain if it's two devices they'll use the unified platform.
As someone mentioned 3DS and Wii U shipments combined equal that easy.
If it's a hybrid, I think a lot of people will stand in line for it, it will absolutely be the first Nintendo console I've bought at launch :).
They expect to ship between 10-12 million units by end of '16? They better be selling this thing for under $200...

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
Nintendo has huge expectations on this platform, can't wait until we know what the hell it is.
