Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Motion controls is optional for Zelda TP... They should've did this with Skyward Sword

Listen I know I been pointing out how Nintendo putting motion controls on Skyward Sword was wrong recently but I made this thread because I think it's going to be a good thread to talk about! and I'M SURE lots of other people will agree with me...... So its been on the news that Motion Controls is optional for Zelda: TPHD.... THEY SHOULD'VE DID THIS WITH SKYWARD SWORD! Like c'mon! I'll always hate Skyward Sword because of its inacurate controls and a SIMPLE word name "Optional" could've fixed it all! I could've been LOVING SS forever but apparently Motion Controls are FORCED so I'll always tell people "Don't play SS". but thats just me. I'm so HAPPY that Motion Controls are optional on Twilight Princess HD because I don't want to hate another Zelda game for its controls. I didn't buy Twilight Princess because the Wii version had motion controls, I HATE motion controls and I didn't get the GC version because it wasn't in stock. So I can finally buy it, now that it has proper controls!  What do you think about Motion Controls being optional on Twilight Princess HD? Will you be playing it with the Wii U gamepad for WiiMote and Nunchuck?

The gameplay, enemies, and puzzles were designed around 1:1 motion controls. I don't see how the game would've worked without them.

No, they didn't

SS was built with 1:1 m. controls in mind

Saying that motion controls in Skyward sword should have been optional is like saying jumping should be optional in Mario Bros. It's just not how the game was designed.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

...Skyward Sword was built around motion controls.

If you really dislike Skyward Sword for its motion controls, just stop thinking about it and move on.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Everyone needs to stop making SS threads. It devolves into bullshit arguments. At the end of the day. SS can have standard controls. They need to design the motion control segments/bosses/enemies to incorporate a control swap choice, and a secondary button system. Just like how they designed the motion controls, in the first place. The game is possible with/without the motions.

A lot of people are hung up with "how would you translate this gesture to a button or the joystick?" The easier way is to just cutout said motion and make it much simple, to what you would do. If you were restricted to Z-targeting.

Take deku nut reflection in OOT. With the N64 controls, it's really just using your sword/shield to bouce it back. But If you wanted to add motion controls to these enemies. They could add you tricking them into getting dizzy. By makinn them follow your sword in a circle. Then you attack while they're confused. Both ways acomplish what you need.

You should just stop.

You mean they need to redesign the whole game. Every enemy, every puzzle, every boss uses the motion controls.

Are you making another thread about Skyward Sword's motion controls? Is your goal to make 1 per week or something?

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The controls aren't the whole game. It's still in the range to be done for a remaster/port.
