Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone else still have doubts Zelda will come to Wii U?

What say you?

I'm 100% sure it'll come to Wii U 136 82.42%

I still have doubts 29 17.58%

Total:165

Reggie, Iwata, Miyamoto, Aonuma, all referred to its code name Zelda for Wii U. It was made with Wii U in mind and I wouldn't have it any other way. If it does come to NX ,I'll still play it on My Wii U because it was made as a Wii U game. If BC is involved where I can still use my GamePad, I might reconsider. It all depends on what "upgrades" are available on NX compared to the Wii U's version.

The only doubt I have is that Zelda U will be cross platform. I am 100% confident that it will still be on the Wii U. There is no way they will drop it, nor can they really. After confirming it for so long, if they dropped it now, they would only largely piss off the small but dedicated base they have. So yeah, I am sure it will come, but also be NX to be something worthwhile to buy.

Then they not a dedicated base. A dedicated base would realise the Wii U is a commercial failure and should want to buy the game on NX at launch instead to give the system a boost and consumer/developer confidence.

If NX fails, as bad or worst that Wii U, who knows where all your favourite franchises like Zelda Mario etc will end up??

Short term gains = long term pains that alot of people haven't even considered in their thought process.

Yes. Let's be taken hostage. That sure is fair. It's Nintendo's fault were they are. Not the consumers.

I dunno, I suppose the dedicated base would want the console they bought to be made worthwhile by providing them a game they've been hoping for for so long. I know I would. Telling that base to go ahead and buy the next console to play it, instead of offering it on the platform they promised wouldn't send a good message to them.

There is no question at all that the game will come to Wii U. It makes no business sense not to release a game that you've been developing for years to a rabid audience that eats up first party titles at a historical level (attach rate on MK8 is the highest of the entire series).

There is no logical reason to pass on revenue now, when you can double dip later.

Would you rather have $25 now, and $30 later, or just $40 down the road?

"Zelda" will sell well on the NX if it is successful, but most of the customers who will buy it on launch day are already Wii U owners. Most of us would be happier buying an enhanced port down the road, along with the game we've been waiting for, rather than waiting even longer for a game that is already finished.

So Nintendo's fanbase should accept being sold a $300 system on false promises, and buy the next system to get what they were repeatedly promised on this one?

That's like buying a car, finding out it doesn't have an engine, and being told that you have to buy another car to get the engine.

It's like people said... this will 100% come to Wii U. However, it's very possible that it'll get a remaster or enhanced edition for the NX as well. I mean, the most systems it can be, the better... it doesn't make any sense for Nintendo to cut out the Wii U, especially after being so advanced in development. It's not like the game is in an early prototype/theoretical fase.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Actually it is partially the consumers fault. Half the guys on here talk about how power doesn't matter on Wii during that era and yet when 3rd party games come out on Wii U (granted not all were worth buying but there was about 7 or so),  we hear excuses like oh the frame rate is shit, the gfx are not on par blah blah blah. All excuses not to buy 3rd party games.  A console without 3rd party support will not survive, which we cleary seen with the Wii U.

It is worthwhile already. Have alook at all the great games you can get on it. it s a $300 machine, 5 games makes it worthwhile. Wii U has at least 20 worth purchasing.

So, I guess the Wii U is not such a failure after all? Haha...
