Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone else still have doubts Zelda will come to Wii U?

What say you?

I'm 100% sure it'll come to Wii U 136 82.42%

I still have doubts 29 17.58%

Total:165

It will come to Wii-U but it will not be exclusive to Wii-U since it will likely be a NX launch title together with Mario Galaxy 3.

Zelda U will come to the WiiU. Nintendo can afford making a port or a remastered version at the start of the NX lifecycle (either like TP or like TLOU), but not skipping the WiiU. They would be burnt at the stake by WiiU owners.

This. Would be nice if this site had a like button or something so I don't have to quote the person who said what I was going to, but then not having anything worthwhile in my post, like this one!

Zelda U will come to the Wii U, period. The NX is really starting to mindblow a lot of persons here.

Well that's kinda the thing with Zelda for NX launch, you wouldn't neccessarily need a Mario Galaxy 3 ready for launch either. You could move that 3-4 months post-launch, give the dev team a few extra months to polish it to top grade greatness, and now the dreaded "post launch drought" suddenly is kaput too because Mario takes care of that. And that basically means all of Nintendo's other big NX releases can now also have an extra 2-4 months of dev time because Zelda/Mario so early in the launch window basically take care of the first 6-8 months so long as you have few smaller support titles in there (like a F-Zero here or a Diddy Kong Racing there).

That's why moving Zelda to the NX launch window just gives Nintendo so many more options. Now suddenly the Mario Galaxy team doesn't have a gun to their head to make the fall 2016 window. The Animal Crossing team for NX can relax a little too because they won't be needed until summer or even fall 2017.

Nope, it will be PS4 exclusive. You heard it here first gentlemen!

They've said, time and time again that it's coming to WiiU, in this last trailer they've really been hammering it home.
The rampant consumer uncertainty might actually be one of the reasons they still refer to it as 'the WiiU Zelda' instead of unveiling the official title.
Either way, it's coming to wiiU.
I think they'll most likely go the TLOU remaster route with it once NX releases though.

Remasters don't sell systems. Nintendo needs to sell NX systems. Like it or not, NX launching day and date with the new Zelda is from a sales POV the best move. Hell, honestly I think they should follow the Wii example and delay the Wii U version even further just to force Nintendo fans to have to buy the NX to play it first.

It worked well for the GameCube-Wii transiton.

Twilight Princess wouldn't have sold as well or had the same impact on the Wii had it come out 6-8 months later as a port. Sony can afford to not have the greatest launch windows because they have an established track record of basically having 100% third party support with the demographics (Madden, COD, GTA, Final Fantasy, etc. players) to go with it.

They can afford to do things like launch Last of Us late in the PS3's cycle because honestly their 1st party IP are secondary. Nintendo does not have this luxury.

Nintendo's own fanbase is also very stubborn on their own and can get caught up in the "unless there's a new Mario or Zelda with this new system I ain't buying sh*t until I get that!", which is problematic.

It will come to Wii U and it will be Wii U exclusive.

Well if it doesn't come then tonnes of people here got 1 reason to buy Nintendo's NeXt Console which the game will be on.

Pocky Lover Boy!

It'll still come to the Wii U, but it will also be an NX launch title, like TP.
