I was set on getting something, I wasnt even sure of what, PS4 with uncharted? Xbox One with Tomb Raider? More games for the Wii U? those were the things I kind of wanted. Only prices would decide it for me.. Once the time passed over to 00:00 I started scouring the web for good prizes, saw stuff I wanted but couldnt make up my mind. Xbox - I really only really want to play Tomb Raider and Ori and a couple of multiplats.. but all bundles were with Fifa 16 or being rather expensive. PS4.. there were a few decent bundles but nothing that made my decision easy so I didnt buy anything and went to sleep. In the morning I looked some more and the few "maybes" I had we're sold out, decided to take the family for a trip to the area where all the big sales took place in Sweden (Elgiganten, Mediamark, Netonnet and so on) and came out pretty dissapointed nothing that really did it for me - closest thing was a 500gb unbundled PS4 for a decent enough price but apparently it was sold out so I didnt get anything.
We skipped the inner city because of my dissapointment and went home instead. I was starting to feel pretty good about not spending any money and at the end of the afternoon I was bragging to my friends about it how I didnt fall in the trap called Black Friday. Anyway, I was going to go to a concert at 7PM so after I had dinner I took two beers and waited for the bus. Was in town at around 5:30PM and while waiting for my friends I decided to go to the local gamestop which pretty much always has terrible prices but they are very nice to talk to so I went in with a smug smile and asked if they did have some good bundle for sale. He asked what console I wanted and I said, what gives the best value could be of my interest. He showed me another Xbox Fifa 16 bundle which was more expensive than pretty much everywhere else and I didnt really expect the PS4 bundle he was going to show me being any better.
He said something like, "I just remembered I think there is still one Mega Bundle left" I was intrigued and he went to get something and comes out with this huge pack.
Presented a 1TB PS4 bundled with physical copies of Uncharted Collection, God of War 3 remaster, Last of Us and said it's 3800 SEK which was cheaper than any 1TB bundle with one game I ever saw on the web or the local stores we visited earlier during the day. I was like hmm, this is a good deal. Then he said, "I almost forgot we add in Batman Arkham Knight as well for free"
That was the nail in the coffin, I wanted to buy it. While cashing up I remembered I had turned in 6 sunset overdrives earlier this year (got them dirtcheap at price of 4$) and cashed in about 700 sek for them and suddenly the bundle was down to 3100 sek which is ~350$
Going from very upset to not buy anything to very pleased then in the very last moments of the day getting a huge bundle.. kind of a roller coaster day. Even though i failed at getting something, failed at not getting something and getting something in the end.. I am very pleased with how things turned out =)
