Forums - Nintendo Discussion - NES getting a new cartridge release after launching 32 years ago

- the Famicon (NES) released in Japan in 1983 and after 32 years it will get a new cartridge release

- '8Bit Music Power' will release next year. It is an 8-bit album that you can play on your old Nintendo console:

YouTube description reads:

"8BIT MUSIC POWER" is not a game.
Chiptune music album.
A music CD to listen to put the audio,
It allowed to play music and put the cassette to the game machine."

There is something to learn here: don't rid yourself of your old consoles cuz you never know when it is really over.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

That's pretty cool.

I love good ol' 8-bit music.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I think Nintendo should manufacture a small run of NES consoles and release new carts for it on their online store. There's a fortune waiting to be had.

And people say Nintendo Consoles dont get lots of support during the end of the life spam.

Third party support silly. And eyah the thread is looking really weird.

It only really counts if it's a licensed release though, there's also a lot of homebrew stuff that would otherwise also count.

But anyway, I'll stop being a party-pooper, it is actually pretty funny.

Interesting to see...

..but what I'm more interested is that the responses after Spurge's post is clumped together. Really weird..

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."
