Just bear in mind that they're reporting through "Target.com" which means the online store. The US hasn't taken to online shopping like China for example and retail sales on Black Friday are always considerably higher.

So I wouldn't read too much into the statement. Especially when we know that it's likely the PS4 and XB1 have sold better at retail, due to some bundles being out of stock at Target.com. Also it' highly likely that other retailers saw much lower Wii U sales as they didn't carry the $249 bundle.

Considering that a Wii U + said two games usually goes for something like $360-$400 I think $100+ in savings is pretty awesome. But without understanding the demand curves, we have no idea what the effect is. It could very well be the case that $250 + two games is the price at which many parents will acquiese to purchasing their children Wii U's, and that a proportional change wouldn't have the same effect on an XBO or PS4 (both of which might have less elastic consumer bases.) Like I said before, these products aren't perfect substitutes.

Yeah, this we know of. I didnt see as Wii U would be outselling the other consoles, just saying that if they sold so much on Targets online site, maybe they could potentially outsell the others.

The Wii U & Nintendo's goal right now is not to beat PS4 and XONE. Its just to keep the Wii U selling and selling. Reaching those expected sales.

There is no way the WiiU comes close to sales of the PS4 or X1.

It actually has outsold both of them.

It's still impressive to hear the Wii U outsold the XBO and PS4, even if it's just one retailer.



Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

I remember something similar last year and it didn't do much. Maybe this year they will be up compare to last year but I am still expecting ps4 and xb1 to outsell it at least 2 to 1.  The best Wii U bundles are in specific stores whereas the best ps4 and xb1 bundle are in every store.
