Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I never played The Legend of Zelda without a walkthrough before. Am I the only one?

Do you use walkthroughs like me?

Yes 33 20.25%

No 65 39.88%

yes, when I get stuck or cant find something 65 39.88%

I don't use them cause they ruin the point of the game for me. One of the most important things in Zelda is the mental work the game makes you do.

But I'll admit that I used it twice (a magazine) during my first playthrough of Ocarina of Time. I was 6 at the time tho (1999)

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Since I pretty much never complete any Zelda game 100% I do not use a guidem

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Depends on the game.... a game like zelda? only if I get stuck.

Also Zelda usually isnt that hard, its a game ment for everyone to be able to beat it.

Depends on the game. Majora's Mask and TLOZ were moderately difficult. When I was twelve years old playing Twilight Princess I would get stuck in pretty much every dungeon as well, just because I didn't know what to do next. That is the tricky thing about Zelda games, not necessarily the combat (which has gotten way too easy), just figuring out what to do next in order to progress in certain circumstances.

No, but I'm going to try with Zelda U.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

When I first tried the series with Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and A Link to the Past, I would occasionally use walkthroughs when I needed it.
I didn't need it as much when I got to Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask.
From then on I never used any walk through for help in a Zelda game except for Zelda 1... because it's Zelda 1.
I get the feeling though that I'll be nesting a good guide when I finally play Zelda Wii U

I pretty much refuse to use a walkthrough unless it's on a game that I've already beaten, so every Zelda I've played I've done without a walkthrough.

I used a walkthrough to speed up the Tri-Force quest in The Windwaker. I didn't find a need to use one at any other time.

That's the only Zelda game I've beaten, so far. I am playing through A Link to the Past without a Walkthrough, though. Zelda games aren't exactly easy, and there are some real brain twisters in there. I remember being unable to progress past the forest temple in the Ocarina of Time when I was younger -- though I do plan to play through totally on my own on my full playthrough.

A lot of retro games usually have at least one point where I can't figure out where to go next. At times like those, it helps to drop the game and just do something else for a while. Coming back, you may have a fresh perspective on things, and you'll often find that whatever was holding you up wasn't as complex as you were making it out to be.

Walkthrough are a big NO for me, I may check one when I finish the game to see if I missed something
