so , SF:V need to die too ?

No, only deals Microsoft makes are bad. Anything sony does is to be celebrated, and is great. I find it funny that this game selling bad is being celebrated by Sony fans, and saying that deals like this need to stop, but sony paying for deals left and right is totally fine.... love the double standards.

I'm not against companies buying up exclusives if it means the quality of the game increases, but there's absolutely no evidence here the game was in any way affected either positively or negatively by microsofts exclusivity.

TR 2013 sold well, so one would assume this project was green lit fast af at Square enix. Square could easily afford the current quality of the game as is on their own, evident by how well they are doing especially with the number of releases they have coming.

Even worse when they announce the pc and ps4 availability before the actual release of the game, you can assume microsofts inclusion was nothing but mere money, which hurts :'(

This game was never really going to sell that well. It was originally suppose to go up against Uncharted 4 and it dodge the uncharted 4 bullet just to be trample by Fallout 4. This game still has leg and is one of the big Holiday titles. Square Enix saved so much money on both development and marketing $$$ that were spent by Microsoft. Microsoft is using Rise of the Tomb Raider to promote Xbox One. All the money spent on this deal just come out of their Advertising budget.

Delaying the game out of the holiday window for a game that's ready to go ins't really the best move. Sure they would of sold much better if they release the game on both consoles but Square Enix would of had to spend more money on Advertising/development. Remains to be seen how much leg this game has for the rest of Holiday 2015.

Well, they saved also so much sales with that :)

Word of mouth will save it. If not, Ps4/PC version will.

The game wouldn't need saving had the PS4 got the timed exclusive deal. That's in another alternate universe though. lol

Doesnt need ps4 exclusivity to be succesful, the ps4 has great software selling power as is for multi plats, and the ps4 momentum translates well into actual good software titles. Just needed to be on ps4 at launch to sell like 500k week 1 at least

Good. Square deserves poor sales.

Oh, it saved on marketing alright. Before MS deal, SE: : "guyz, ready to spend another 100 million on marketing and complain about not selling enough??". After deal, MS: " now we spend 0 on marketing and let it die, cause HALO."
Doubt it saved any on development though, given the game was already in an advanced stage as a multiplat title before MS stepped in.

Launching the same day as Fallout was such a stupid, stupid idea. Their stubbornness about not moving the date was just asinine.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

1. Can you name those deals microsoft made which were considered bad by gamers?

2. So the order was great? and sony getting all the flack for a sparse line up this year (what they even said themselves) all were great?

3. Can you show me 5 comments here on vgchartz from sony fans celebrating that the game is selling bad?

4. Can you tell me at least 10 of these deals? If sony is doing it left and right in your opinion.

5. You really shoudn't love these double standards? How can you complain about them and still love them on the other site (that's one hell of a double standard)

That's.... not what I was saying.

What will be funny is if it sells 1mil plus on PS4 first month. Would be a huge kick to MS.

Not hating on MS, I have an X1. I just think this deal was horrible in general and executed even worse with the release window.
