Which game will have the highest LTD in the end?
7th CoD BO3 is a gimped version of the most popular FPS franchise ever. The Xbox 360 version of BO3 will probably be the lowest selling version of the game, albeit it will sell more than PS3 version in Xbox's strongest terrirtories of UK and USA.
Rise of the Tomb Raider looks to have gotten off to a disappointing start, with week 1 sales in the territories we know of so far being lower than people would have hoped: UK 39K, USA 105K, Germany 5.5K. In comparison BO3 on 360 had a better opening week in those 3 territories and even week 2 for BO3 in those terriroties was not all that far behind week 1 of Tomb Raider. But I feel like Tomb Raider should have better legs. Most people think RoTR is a better game, and even though Xb one owners are mostly being drawn to the other big name franchises that have just released, there is every reason to think that a decent number of Xb one owners will eventually go for Tomb Raider.
So I think RoTR (on Xb one) will eventually overtake the 360 version of BO3, and more than likely also overtake the PS3 version of BO3. But I don't think it's guaranteed. I doubt it will get there before the PC version of the game launches, but it should get there well before the PS4 version of RoTR launches. But perhaps December will be the time for Tomb Raider to shine, and the gimped 7th gen versions of BO3 will prove to have horrible legs and sales will quickly fall away to almost nothing quite soon. I think this is the last CoD game that will appear on 7th gen consoles too.
