Deluxe Wii U with Splatoon and Smash Bros for $249.99?!... that was like a $400+ value only a few months ago.

Well in my opinion it was alway's $250/$299 value and Wii-U was simply overpriced...

True, but you have to be VERY lucky to get that deal. I'm sure only a handfull of stores are gonna have this offer, and think of how fast that will be leaving the store shelves.

Well, if by handful, you mean practically every retailer carrying the Wii U in North America, then yes, a handful.

This will be leaving store shelves at a much slower rate than PS4 and X1 bundles at only $50 more. I'm not sure why people here think that the Wii U + 2 of its top games are worth $250, but I assure you, most potential buyers out there do not think that when they can get a PS4 with two of it's top games for $300.

Only for Nintendo, not any actual consumer

Are you suggesting people who buy Nintendos aren't real?  People choose to put different values on different things and just because you don't agree with one, doesn't make it a universal truth.  I have my own sentiments on what some consoles are worth but I don't feel the need to tell everyone they are null because they choose to pay for them.

No, he's saying most of the people that are interested in buying a Wii U do not feel like A Wii U with those two games is a "$400 value". This should be obvious considering how little people have bought the Wii U. More people would buy it if they felt it was worth the money.

I disagree, people who are interested in something will find a way to buy it.  Nice obvious slight on the Wii U as 11.7 million people is not a little number.

It is a little number when it comes to console hardware sales, unless we're going to start acting like the Dreamcast sales at around 12 million wasn't so abysmal that it convinced Sega to leave the console-making business. It is compared to the 33+ million that bought a more expensive PS4 in a shorter time frame. About 3 times more people felt a PS4 with zero games is worth more than a Wii U +2 of its top games. That's how this works.

For example I am interested in a Wii U. But not at $300, or even $200. I will buy a Wii U when I can get one for less than $150. Now you can pretend I am not actually interested in a Wii U, but I assure you I am. I have a list of games I intend to get with it when it drops to that price, and they include: Lego Undercover, Bayonetta 2, Splatoon, Smash Brothers, Mario Kart 8 and Xenoblade Chronicles. If Nintendo starts pulling it off shelves before it gets to that price, I'll probably wait until I can buy one used for less than $100. I bought a Pebble time steel today with part of my christmas bonus just today. I considered getting a wiit, but it just wasn't worth the asking price to me. It's not about being able to find a way to buy it, it's about it being worth what they're asking for it.

And therefore you're an "actual consumer"

By the way, Sega had other reasons for pulling the Dreamcast, but feel free to believe what you choose.

Yes, I am obviously an actual consumer. I purchase video games and video game consoles in large quantities. Nintendo is trying to convince people like me to buy the Wii U and they're not doing a very good job of it. The Wii U is a failure by every reasonable metric. 12 million just isn't a good sales number for a console. It just plain isn't.

Sega did have other reasons for not making a console after the dreamcast. But Sega would have definitey followed up the dreamcast with another console had the dreamcast sold 100 million units instead of 12 million.

This seems to contradict what u said during our conversation the other day, that Wii U couldn't be appealing no matter what, now ur saying the only reason u haven't bought one is because of price. If price has been an issue for an extremely hard core gamer like yourself than don't u suppose price is also a potential issue for the average consumer?

He's not actually intersted in the Wii U.  He's just trying to explain his thought process behind not buying one.
