What ZhugeEX said might of been harsh but that's out of order. We do not need this type of "behind the keyboard" type of bravery that has to stoop this low. If you want to insult people maybe you should eject yourself from the forum.

If what I said sounded too crast, I apologize.  But do not subscribe this "behind the keyboard" metaility.  My whole point was to not get off of being so self-righteous.

And you wouldn't talk to somebody like that to their face. Easy to do though safely behind your keyboard.

Seconded; they provide a free service that takes considerable effort, which warrants only constructive criticism.

It was your first reply to him. He never insulted you. You behave like that in real life, you're going to end up with teeth missing.

Congrats to Sony.

I think this is somewhat unfair on Brett. I will explain why, but first Im gonna just post the methodology page.

http://www.vgchartz.com/methodology.php

With that out of the way, when discussing VGChartz numbers it is always important to note that the data provided is never pushed through as official data. The numbers, each and every one of them, are estimates based on a specific methodology that has worked very well for specific games and very poorly for others. Same goes for platform totals. However, when the data provided (like here, for example) is within 5% of the actual WW numbers, it isnt exactly fair to just dismiss everything that Brett does.

Take a read of this, incase you havent done before - Why it is so easy to blame VGChartz

"What VGChartz offers is timely data that isn't meant to be 100% accurate but be in the right range. We don't compete with the likes of NPD, GFK or ChartTrack; we offer a service that is totally different. One that is not based on comprehensive and direct retail tracking, but rather uses modern and alternative methods to quickly arrive at estimates, combined with a database of historical sales - constantly adjusted and tweaked to be as accurate as possible."

"However, even with the greatest of diligence, our data is still just an estimate so whenever quoting a figure from VGChartz it should be listed as an estimate and readers should be made aware that there is a margin of error associated. With this in mind, VGChartz data is fine for most applications - from a year-on-year genre analysis to first-day estimates for a major title to a ballpark estimate of total sales to date for a given game. It just requires the user to have a little common sense and realise that an estimate is not exact but better than having no information and intended to point you in the right direction."

To everyone else, lay off of ZhugeEX. Guy knows what he is talking about. Chill the fuck out.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

I don't think he is wrong but seriously, why is he even here and we should also consider that he tries to make money out of his own data and social media. And the direct attack on his site is just unnecessary as if he wouldn't know what is going on here and his choice of words show that the fame went over his head at times.

Yikes and gadzooks! I swear this system exceeds every new sales expectation we have for it. Can't stop the train.

Because he cares about the industry, likes to talk about sales, and this is a dedicated forum built around sales data.

While it isn't exactly what it once was, the sales discussion and interest here is amongst the best on any videogame forum. We have many members who do not trust the data.

Congrats on Sony! But I think the gap between both consoles isn't representative to the quality of them. PS4 is good but not twice as good as Xbone.

Really!?

Did you really have to point that out?
