5 months... 5 months ago, we lost a great man.
Mr. Iwata wasn't just a president, or a developer, or a programmer. His willingness and eagerness to engage with fans through his Nintendo Directs, Iwata Asks, etc. As well as his genuine enthusiasm about developing games demonstrated that, while he was the president of the biggest video game company in the world, he was still one of us.
He was a gamer, like all of us. He thought, planned, came up with strategies, and played from the mindset and heart of a gamer. When we played games he had a hand in doing, we could feel the joy, passion, and genuine love of the game that he felt when he was putting work into it.
Through good times, bad times, trials and tribulations, doubts and frustrations, he never let go of his passion, he never stopped loving or caring about the one thing that he shared in common with all of us. Our love for playing games, not just playing them, but creating cherish-able memories as a result of those games. Memories that would last with us forever.
When I look back on all the Directs I watched him in, and all the things he had to say, and the attitude, demeanor, and personality he displayed, I feel as though I was watching a developer advertising his game, or an executive promoting his strategy... But like my dear friend talking about something we both loved and shared.

On behalf of the fans, of all of gaming. Whether it's Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, PC, Mobile, on behalf of every single person in this world who is proud and happy to call themselves, gamers, I say...
Thank you, our dear friend. Thank you for everything.
Satoru Iwata, we love you and we miss you. May we meet again. Goodbye, my friend.

This was a pretty good documentary, but those digital photos are a great disservice to the man, though add some gaussian blur and voila.

Compare:

Original (open in new tab for the real shock):

With added random noise:

Here's a simple tutorial: http://www.howtogeek.com/163491/how-to-add-film-grain-to-your-digital-photos/ (I didn't add blur, honestly well scanned film doesn't have blur anyway)
Keep this in mind if you're ever publishing something (there's also film emulation software around). And sorry for the hijack, but I was sad about the insult to the man in the way of unprocessed digital photography.
P.S. It's a real shame Gaming Historian mostly deals with obscure subjects.

Great, moving documentary. Mr. Iwata was a great man, it's sad it all had to end the way it did.

I was able to watch it before, a great video
