Forums - Movies & TV - Jessica Jones somehow manages to be an even more boring show than Daredevil (SPOILERS)

Not a troll thread at all. I think movies and shows shouldn't get away with "pondering" scenes as a a way to make them "deep". It just slows things down.

All the good side characters were cardboards - they basically latch themselves to the main character and insist on helping her. Malcolm and his plight could easily have been cut out.

And yes, the villain is weak with such poor motivations. His undoing so far has been that he likes the main character too much. His whole plan or whatever he was doing never made any sense. And he was allowed to roam free and kill people just so that a girl won't have to go to prison (assuming you could prove mind control)?

And a whole bunch of drama would have been avoided if people just talked for a minute. Simpson doing stuff on his own so drama ensues with Trish. Replace Simpson in the previous sentence with Jessica and vice-versa. It just went on and on while the actual plot wasn't moving forward. When you think about it, precious few things happen in this show.

And yes, Daredevil was boring for the most part too.

And there's 3 super heroes in Hell's Kitchen alone? And multiple others in New York? How about that for a coincidence?

The other thing that I don't understand is why is she so afraid of Kilgrave? And she's fine with telling Simpson to get over the fact that he tried to kill Trish while being mind-controlled but she's cut up about having killed a person under similar circumstances? Not just cut up, she has PTSD.

Also, what's with Netflix and the LGBT agenda? Daredevil is the only exception that I can think of.

I loved it.
Like the real world many problems could be solved by talking but we don't. People have egos, think they know best or try and protect those they live.

She does have ptsd over killgrave and much more than Simpson because she wasn't just told to do one thing, she was with him a violated constantly for quite some time.
What lgbt agenda? So there are lesbians? If you think having gay and lesbian characters is some agenda, reminds me of people thinking ask characters in games should be straight white males by default and only anything else if it "adds to it"
When you say killgrave is weak, it's probably just because he mostly thinks small, he's not super ambitious otherwise he'd easy be a major super villain. His power was really only limited by what he wants.

LGBT agenda? yes, ok

LGBT agenda? You are going to have to explain that one. Just because Hogarth is a lesbian? All of sex scenes were hetero, between Jessica and Luke, are you going to say there a racial unity agenda too?

Think about all the main Netflix shows - OitNB, House of Cards, Sens8 - all with gay/trans protagonists.

prefered this to Daredevil...

I haven't started this yet. But if it is half as good as Daredevil then it warrants my time to watch :P

I watched all of daredevil and a few episodes of Jessica Jones. In my opinion, daredevil was good and jessica jones was just boring to no end. I don't really care about a PI with relationship issues. There's basically no powers or special effects in the show. It had a low budget feel to it.

Ummmmm... there are gay people in the world.  It makes sense that out of the characters in Jessica Jones, some of them might be gay.  Having gay characters (who aren't portrayed in any particularly positive way) does not equate to an lbgt agenda.  Just means that they're acknowledging that gay people in fact do exist in New York City.  As a New Yorker, I can confirm this.

I actually liked it. Maybe its because the girl had sexy scenes in Breaking Bad. 😛

Daredevil was a yawn fest 😫 . Boring as fuck.

That actress is hot but that can't make up for the rest of the show.
