Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Forbes: Wii U-Only Zelda Game Would be a Mistake

And people may not buy an NX who own a wiiu because of that decision, it will make money on WiiU regardless, you dont do that to your fans who have supported you, i would refuse to buy an NX based off of that decision, many others would to!

Iwata's ghost has appeared! "I will make you understand... We will release a new Legend of Zelda game for NX and you will understand and enjoy.".

Hope this isn't too soon... Could be.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

If it was to come out on Wii U only, and release 6-12 months ahead of NX it would be a system seller despite the fact the Wii U is nearing the end of its life. If coupled with a price cut to the Wii U hardware it might make the Wii U numbers a bit less embarrassing than they currently are.
Then, when NX is released (probably not backwards compatible due to X86 architecture) Nintendo will no doubt have a virtual console style service where games like Zelda Wii U could be downloaded. If the NX is as powerful as people are suggesting then frankly Zelda Wii U won't cut it, the NX deserves a new experience built from the ground up.

Well that depends, do Nintendo want this to sell like 3-4m tops or say 6-8m??
Yeah an NX version would make a lot of sense at launch, especially if they dont have any other massive IP ready for launch day.

If the NX is fairly powerful and has 3rd party support, then losing 10m and gaining 20/30m or maybe more would be a great decision still. If people love Nintendo so much, why would you want your favorite company to suffer, doesn't make sense to me.

Ok, but your acting like ZeldaU wont make any money on WiiU, when it will, thats not a bad decision putting it on WiiU.

I think his point is, that it's better to gain 20/30 million on top of 10 million rather than losing 10 million and gaining 20/30 million.

Off-topic perhaps but I'm getting sick of seeing "Forbes says" articles. It's nothing but an online blogging network. These "contributers" aren't Forbes employees, they're just bloggers who are getting paid by generating traffic. They deserve no extra credibility because of that domain name.

NX Backwards compatibility would render this dispute useless imo. Wii U owners can have their Zelda Wii U and NX owners can have it on BC.

The wii had backwards compatibility but it didn't stop nintendo from releasing a wii version of twilight princess.

It will be exclusive to Wii U... until the NX releases and they'll publish an updated version with better graphics (like GTA V, but not as drastic).

They should release the NX version first as well. As for mistakes, Nintendo has already made a big one bringing it to the Wii U at all. It's foolish of Nintendo to waste resources supporting a ship that's already sunk.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I agree, unless the NX is backwards compatible
