When feminists talk about equality, they actually mean strong advantages for themselves. They don't want to give up privileges in any way, hell no, that would be sexist, y'know?

Good thing most women aren't such extreme feminist nazis and are actually quite reasonable about the topic. So if I'm on a sinking ship, I will save women and children first. But I'll make sure that extreme feminists will drown with the boat, just to make sure the world will be a better place!

I, personally, am pretty certain that men and women are different. It's pretty obvious, to be quite honest.

Thats where it gets interesting.Feminists dont truly want equality.they just want to get advantages for themselves.The movement may have started differently, but today is mostly made up of oportunists.If that situation were to ever occur, they would be back to "childrens and woman" first, and wouldnt even give a thought about equality.

In the perfect world where you have time to decide exactly what is going to happen then it should be more a case of elderly people or those with severe illness's first, given the rates of old people on cruises and the general % of the populace which has suffered some degree of cancer or in my own case Type 1 Diabetic it would make more sense for the ill to stay on the ship and go down with it, if not for the fact that healthy young adults would go on to live a longer life then for the sake of if I'm on a life raft for a number of days without both sugar and insulin to keep my blood glucose level balanced then I'm going to pass into a coma and not be able to mind the child in the raft with me.

In the real world tho, no one would probably volunteer their spot on a life raft to die over a healthy adult since in times of panic people will claim things like drug use or criminal behavior in the past should mean young adults should die for elderly as a sign of respect for what they've given the world (not paying attention to the fact that old people could have been criminals or that every old person today was alive during the 60s)

TL:DR it should be decided by what they have left to live for and who are capable of minding the child for the period while they await rescue, gender should have nothing to do with that in the slightest.

I am old fashioned, the women and children are getting on the boats, I would physically restrain/beat any man that decided otherwise if I was there. Having said that I have no issue with the feminists volunteering up their place for a man in the spirit of equality.

The "women and children first" rule is not because women have privilege over men. That rule is there to guarantee all kids are safe and with at least one of their parents. If a kid only has a father, that man can go with his child.

At least, that is how I interpret this :P

Guys, could I just make a suggestion to avoid veering into talking about drowning anyone on the ship who is a feminist or drowning men because they deserve to die, it would make for a more... "not locked" thread if posts kept to who should survive and why I would think.

Just a thought of course! Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one :)
