Nintendo's support for Smash is pathetic. Overall, they've honestly done more harm than good. :/

The game itself is on other platforms, but Call of Duty recently switched to PlayStation 4. The Call of Duty World League with a $3mil prize pool will be played exclusively on PS4. Sure you can play your $8 wagers on other platforms if you want, but if you're even somewhat interested in going pro you'll need a PS4.

And to answer OP's question if Sony needs one: nope.

Im not saying stv wont push wonders. Im getting a ps4 when SFV, it will be a great game. But im talking about exclusive wise only on PlayStation platform. 

And I'm saying it won't matter if it's exclusive. The point of exclusives are to move units and SFV will move units on PS4.

Looks like Sony are putting more than just games into esports. I won't be surprised to see Sony creating games just for esports considering how much they are investing into it.

Actually the OP has the same thought as i am, and i think it would be awesome if Sony focusing more on their EXCLUSIVES Esport. WE already have RIGS, and GT Sports but non of them interesting me (personally i think the whole RIGS thingy is gonna FAIL HARD)
E-Sport is all about FUN so we need FUN games like Smash or Halo. If i was a CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, i would make Ratchet & Clank PS4 has MP or make Jak 4/Sly Cooper 5 with Multiplayer.
Oh and Uncharted 4 MP should be in ESport.
