People also seem to forget that the PS3 won out.

Wii is the one that sold the most, but thats beyond the point. The point is, for the ps3 to recover from the disastrous launch, it bleed alot of money.Sure, in the end was commercially succesful, but it was a financial disaster.(at least the first years). With it i mean that the ps3 had to lower the price alot, for people to start buying it.If the price is just too high on the PS4+PSVR combo, people wont buy it.

I wasn't taling about he Wii.  I was responding to a comment about the PS3 and Xbox 360.  You just had to make this about Nintendo right?  Everything else you said is completely irrelvant to the VR conversation because the PS4 isn't being sold at a loss.  You just made it up so you could lead with a comment about the Wii selling the most.  Didn't you?  I am really sorry but that pissed me off.

PSVR is pretty much only going to get people who already have a PS4

No I wasnt.I was just correcting your statement.I didnt know you just wanted to compare X360 and the PS3.And i said after that, it was beside the point. And Im not a fanboy.Im a gamer. And just to state it, i got a PS3 first, then i got a Wii.I just mentioned the price that the ps3 initially had as an example that even the most unique and superior tecnology, if priced too high, wont attain commercial and/or financial success, even if it deserves to.Im of the opinion that the PSVR wont even sell well to those that already own the PS4.We still need an oficial pricing, but I dont see it lower than 300 dollars, and thats too high for a peripheral.Thats just my take on the situation.Sorry if it looked like I was trying to piss you off.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Looks like people are divided. Interesting.

It should be substantial the support they give to the VR, since Move had some potential but wasn't well supported (and still sold more than 20m iirc).

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I was talking more specifically about the PSVR which will be sold to the public on the strength of its gaming and entertainment abilities. Abilities that have yet to be focused down into one important thing to 'open the flood gates': a killer app. Watching videos of people flailing around pretending their on a rollercoaster is fun, sure, but mom and grandma aren't going to fork out $300+ to buy PSVR just based on that.

The flood gates will open when you see the likes of Oprah promoting it on TV, not on videos of people playing VR games like Sony showed last month at Paris Games Week.

You're not talking sense. To put it mildly.

"Wii had Wii Sports, which pushed millions of consoles. PSVR has...?"

PS VR has? Is this an honest question? Or do you suggest it has no significant support? Anyone who is following the whole VR thing knows that there are plenty of games solely meant for VR (Rigs, Robinson, The Assembly) or with VR support (EVE Valkyrie, GT Sport).

"This whole VR thing seems premature, so many tech companies rushing to capitalize on a market that doesn't exist yet. "

Yah, so tech companies are not supposed to rush an non existent market. But if no one is rushing how should a market of formidable size ever come into existence? And one might have the grand idea that tech companies rushing in, investing, promoting, developing, supporting, that it might really have something to it.

"The flood gates will open when you see the likes of Oprah promoting it on TV"

You trippin?

Is Jimmy Fallon the likes of Oprah? At least he is on TV. *eyes roll*

Oh yeah, how blind I must be to not recognize the massive sales potential of RIGS as compared to Wii Sports. You might want to speak to your doctor about upping the dosage of whatever medication you are on.

Nada.

Irrelevant. VR won't take off.

Interesting indeed. You pick one title, although i mentioned a few of many. Also interesting, how you pretend to have had the clairvoyance of how 'successful' Wii and Wii Sports are going to be - something no one pays attention to anymore - and apply this to PSVR. You take sth. that has become irrelevant as quickly as it got overwhelmed by fame to prove that (PS) VR is going to fail. Consequently PS4 is a failure, because it has no killer app doing sales ála Wii Sports? Interesting suggestion. I'm gonna note down that one.

I think the title and the subject in whole aren't well elaborated.

"How Much Will PlayStation VR Impact PS4 Sales?"

I say it already has an impact. Not as single factor, but one of many reasons that motivates people to buy a PS4.

"How Much impact Will Uncharted 4  have on PS4 Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will Street Fighter 5 have on PS4 Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will TLG have on PS4 Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will GT Sport have on PS4 Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will the next SSM Game have on PS4 Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will Summer Lesson have on PS VR Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will GT Sport have on PS VR Sales?"

"How Much Impact Will have any future non (conventional) gaming application have on PS VR Sales?

"How Much Impact Will any future PS4 and PS VR titles will have on Sales?"

So far the sales are looking pretty good. ;D
