Forums - Gaming Discussion - Fallout 4 Pre-Release Screenshot vs Release

While a game is in development they make a vertical slice of the freaking thing and throw in everything they want to be in there, when they progress with the development they realise it snot possible to have everything working together with insane graphics, its not rocket science. And Fallouts 4 graphics are bad either way nobody is buying the game cause of how it looks.

Here is one taken in pretty much the same spot. I also lowered the res to 1080p is make it more comparable.

Thanks for the screenshot, and it still looks the same though. The Pre Release definitely had better lightning, textures and overall better LoD.

Oh most definitely. It seems like there is some loss in fidelity and lighting here.

But the difference is, this was less than 6 months ago. This was not a vertical slice, this was the full game.

In the end of July they said the game was basically done. They were just fixing the bugs. So unless from June to July they went from vertical slice to full game, which I doubt, they knew what they were doing.

EDIT: Oh crap, actually the game was done before the announcement, I spoke to fast.

I mean, considering this game is PC first it's not hard to believe they used that version running on max settings. Plus the game was announced with mod support so that's easily a way for them to make an excuse if we're really gonna make an issue out of this. They have so many ways to justify this if necessary, it's not even worth trying.

If anybody trusts the graphics in a Bethesda game that's his/her fault though.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Except that you can't even get those graphics at max settings on PC as snyperdud showed. The Pre Release graphics aren't possible on any system because they don't exist lol.

Notto disu shitto agen!

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Who doesn't use bull-shots and touched up game-play trailers to promote though? It gets people hyped and it works everytime.

Not this again...

Yes, ads look better than reality, it's nothing new. Go ahead and order a Big Mac. It won't look as good as in the TV spot. Just get over it already, goddamn!

You're actually allowed to request a Big Mac that looks as good as the ads if the one they give you isn't up to snuff. Now videogames however...
