Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nicalis: Wii U is not much more powerful than a PS Vita

Yeah, right. Try running Bayonetta 2 on a Vita.

Vita is basically the same chip that was in the 2011 iPad (ancient). There's nothing special about it. It isn't on par with Wii U for displaying graphics, the new most recent iPad Pro which is several times more powerful than that old iPad probably is now reaching Wii U graphics.

Just the Wii U is extremely limited compared to the XBox One and PS4 due to power consumption restrictions (Wii U runs at 33 watts versus 112-137 watts), the PSVita is at a similar disadvantage compared to the Wii U ... it runs at an average of 4-5 watts compared to 33 watts for the Wii U (not to mention a huge disparity in memory bandwidth thanks to the Wii U's embedded RAM).

Man these people.

Vita secret sauce confirmed.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

PS Vita is not even comparable to PS3 or 360 (see Borderlands port, Golden Abyss vs. Uncharted 3, Mercenary vs. Killzone 3).

Your logic doesn't make sense. If you compare PS Vita games with 7th generation games then please do it correctfully.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (first Uncharted handheld game) looks better than Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (first Uncharted home console game). Killzone: Mercenary (first Killzone on PS Vita) looks better than Killzone 2 (first Killzone on PS3). And don't forget that the PS Vita games were made from smaller developers (Sony Bend and Guerilla Cambridge) than the PS3 games (Naughty Dog and Guerilla Games). The Borderlands port also wasn't from the main developer (Gearbox Software). I am sure a second Uncharted or Killzone on PS Vita could have looked like Uncharted 2 or Killzone 3 (though Killzone: Mercenary already looks equally to Killzone 3 imo).

It makes perfect sense. I just don't care which looks better, I care about what's more powerful (which is relevant to the topic). You just seem to ignore the much much lower resolution on PSVita. On the same screen, Uncharted 1 and Killzone 2 would look far superior.

The Wii U version looks better, but it is not a fair comparison.
You are ignoring the fact that you play Need for Speed PS Vita on a little screen and Need for Speed Wii U on a big television screen.

Well, that's a multiplatform game that is on both systems, there aren't many. They were both ported by Criterion themselves and not by a crappy studio. Black Ops Declassified vs. Black Ops 2 would be a bigger difference, but that would be unfair because they did a bad job with the Vita game.

Yeah, Most Wanted is probably great for a handheld game and close to the console experience. I'm not saying that it's bad.

Most Wii U games are 720 and Vitas screen is 544p (and some games like Uncharted run at 408p), so it doesn't have to be as powerful. Wii U and Vita would probably share multiplats if they were both more successful.

not much more

Still means it's more powerful than Vita.

The Vita is PowerVR SGX543MP4 in quad-core config will nets you about 30 GFLOPS.

The gap between the Wii U and Vita is comparable/bigger than the gap between Wii U and PS4/XB1.

So yeah, if Vita is "almost" a Wii U, the Wii U is "almost" a PS4.

The Vita is closer to original XBox (the one released in 2001) than it is to the Wii U.

If he doesn´t want to bring the Afterbirth expansion of The binding of issac that´s fine but use a better excuse
