Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony XDev Europe: "So what ps2 games would you like to see on your ps4?"

What the... They took this long for an emulator to happen and it doesn't even support all games?! They can't be serious. Anything below 95 % of all PS2 games and I will be disappointed. If they want to give us just a few titles with no disc support, I'm out and will just continue to use my PS2. Screw someone else over, Sony!

I'm going to keep asking for it, until someone finally does it.

Okami?

Okami.

Add Viewiful Joe to the list.

Excluding games that don't have remasters available, my list would go;

- Time Splitters 2
- Dark Cloud 1 & 2
- Virtua Fighter 4
- The Simpson's Hit and Run
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- Monster Rancher 4

I love posts like these because people are actually serious. 95% of all PS2 games? Lol....For one, the companies have to approve them and a lot of the times there is complications with copyrights and other things. And people actually expecting disc support are being ridiculous, not even Nintendo has GameCube backwards comp. For them to support PS2 disc based compatibility means they would have had to built the PS4 so it could read PS2 games and that would have required extra money.  You guys think it's easy to support things like 2 generations backwards compatibility. And this is a business, why would they even think of supporting disc based compat when there is nothing but used games for sale so the companies that decide to bring the game to the PSN make no money. And the games have to support trophies so they do need to modify the game a little. What you're asking for is never going to happen so I guess you shoud stick to your PS2?

"There is only one race, the pathetic begging race"

Timesplitters
Altered Beast
Onimusha (shame on you all for leaving it out)

As a consumer, I don't care about the details. But I'm sure as hell not paying again for my PS2 games just to play them on PS4. Why should Sony develop such a thing if not for money? How about making your platform more attractive and stuff?

There may be reasons, but that doesn't mean I have to be excited about it. With just some titles, I can use my PS2 or PCSX2, should even look prettier on the latter. Oh, and if 2 generations BC is sooooo friggin' hard to do, why was it so easy on PS3? It had support for 95 % of all PS1 games. And it supported games on discs. No company has to approve anything for stuff like that. Sony just has to do it.

Just wait for them to announce no disc support for PS1 games, yeah, buy them for 10 $ a pop on the store, doesn't that sound great. I can't help myself, I think it's utter bullshit. But, to be fair, I will wait for the final announcement.
