Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Will EA Reconsider EA Access?

FIGHT!!!

It's a risky thing though, especially if they lose too much money in a 'short term' that has no expiry date.

You have to put in the ground work gg if you want it to work.

I would need to see internal sales data to answer this question properly.

The amount of times I've seen it on GAF is incredible. I noticed it with Need For Speed first. Many many people stating they played it for 10 hours and it was enough and now I'm seeing it with Star Wars too. Demos were actually reduced or even completely stopped because some developers saw drops it sales and here we are with 10 hours of gameplay.

Thats the case for me with the fifa games

Predicted 15+ million lifetime-sales for God of War:

Maybe all of those or most.

Here's an interesting (and short) talk on the subject. It starts at 10:30

Do you suggest we go back to no demos at all? What this guys suggest is "we need to trick people into thinking our products are good regardless if it's true or not!". Because yeah when you see a trailer you want it but when you finaly realize how bad a game can be then you don't want it anymore. So should we prevent betas too?

So, we we're complaining that it was bad for consumer and it was just a way for EA to steal our money and now we're complaining it is too good for us and we're hurting EA's financials?

Like the post avove says, its good for us and bad for EA so they will change it.

The problem with EA games is that most are repetitive and/or multiplayer games wwith short storys if any at all, so if you play them for 10 hours, you tend to play most or all the story if any at all, if its multyplayer game you play that in 20mins and after that its just repetitive so people dont want to invest anymore on something they have already gone completly through. Aside from dragon age origins, I cant see anything that I would need more than 10hrs worth to be satisfied from EA, and that includes starwars battlefront since reviews say that theres very little content and its being held back in multyple expansions.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Clearly it's doing them a lot of harm in sales and I can't see them continuing with the same policy. XB1 owners are playing games for those allotted 10 hours and then not actually buying the game. First it was Need For Speed and now it's Star Wars: Battlefront.

Only 10 hours? You get more game time for many EA games on Origin completely free without paying for a subscription:

  • 168 hours Battlefield 4
  • 48 hours The Sims 4
  • 48 hours Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare
  • 48 hours Titanfall
  • 48 hours Kingdoms of Amlur
  • 6 hours Dragon Age Inquisition

And after that you can just open a new free account for more hours. ;)

Additionally there are the Steam weekend promotions where you can play some titles for free (usually 48 hours).

Anyone else remembering all the threads about how EA Access is not enough value for the money?
