This I agree with; games like Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Trine 2 Director's Cut, and Yoshi's Woolly World look beautiful on Wii U. The console may not be a technical powerhouse, but it's fully capable of producing visually pleasing games.

Pikmin 3, Zelda WW HD, Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2 and Yoshi Woolly World are all have great visuals and they graphically belongs to this gen even if they technically are not on level of some PS4/Xbox One games, despite Wii U is much weaker than XboxOne/PS4. Something like that couldn't said for Wii games in comparison with Xbox 360/PS3 games.

What, no love for Captain Toad or Trine? :P

Starfox's graphics don't even really both me personally; hell, I still regularly play Wii and even N64 games, so low res visuals don't spoil the fun for me. But I'm aware that for many other people, graphics do play an important role in their enjoyment of a game, and between this and the general distaste for novelty control methods these days, Starfox Zero would sell more in my opinion if it had standard controls and graphics more on the level of, say, Mario Kart 8.

Captain Toad is little polished 3D World in terms of visuals but on levels in much smaller scale, because of that I only mentioned 3D World. I didnt mentioned Trine because we have Trine 1080p on PS4.

Agree, I think Star Fox looks OK, certainly not on same graphical level of game I mentioned, but it not like its worst looking Wii U game also.

No. Graphics always become dated. There may never be another game with this control set up.

.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

Two questions:

1. How much graphics would be gained from losing the camera? I assume they are just using a different camera and not re-rendering the entire scene. How much would it improve, and for what technical reason would it be improved?

2. Where would Nintendo get all of the extra artists in order to complete this job in time for launch? Given that the game is on the verge of release, all of the artists are likely done and moved onto other projects, would Nintendo hire new artists? Would they shift artists off of other projects back onto StarFox?

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I'm pretty sure Wii U is capable of a better looking game even in 60fps and 2 screens. If they are not doing it, is because a) laziness or b) low budget game.

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

The game wouldn't have jaw dropping graphics either way ... it's a Star Fox game which isn't going to sell a ton, Nintendo isn't going to give it some huge budget. It doesn't look THAT bad anyway, just a bit bland and low poly. It's not as if it's unplayable or something.

Not really. Star Fox is the type of game where all the fun-factor hinges on how good the gameplay is. As long as they can manage to make the game fun, smooth, and have a good amount of replay value, I don't think the sub-par graphics will bother me too much.

Graphic is gimmick if they neglected gameplay, but the gameplay could be a gimmick if the final games is hard to play using gamepad, so even without the pad controller, it already play great (without add anything), so they could have just put the resource on the graphic.

What benefit is the gamepad?

I voted yes. To be fair, I have'nt tried it yet, but it seems just way to awkward, annoying and gimicky.

What makes people think it is re-rendering anything to show on a different display? It shouldn't effect the processor any more than just the placement of a different camera, which is next to nil.
