Congratz to sony
Theyre swimming in money
So its time to improve the psn

Psn is perfect.  No problems this year at all and that's with Sony putting up with way more traffic than its rivals.

BTW how do II reply to multiple people in one post?  I don't want to spam the forum..

It depends on where you live

In the long run I'm guessing X1 may sell 15 million units outside the US. I'm not saying that's amazing numbers, but not a failure.

How exactly would that not be a failure when the 360 sold like 40million outside the US?

What's the Wii U boost from?

Splatoon bundle.

But still less than 1000 up on last year.

PSV current price is too high for many potential buyers, so they probably don't even bother to look for titles they could like, as they won't buy the console in the first place. Also, a larger potential user base could mean more SW support. Currently PSV is in a vicious circle, but a better price and some form of relaunch could break it, at least up to a certain degree.

I agree the price is to high, especially for a platform with so little support.

There are things Sony could do to stimulate Vita sales. But it wouldn't be enough to bring back notable 3rd party support. Even Sony doesn't want to make Vita games. Again, 3rd parties have lost interest in PS3 and 360 even though they move significantly more software than Vita could ever hope.

True. Price always was a problem, but if shortly after launch, after PSV ran out of early adopter ready to buy it at that price, it seemed its biggest problem, made even more serious by expensive nonstandard memcards, later it became the second of its three biggest problems, surpassed by Sony itself not supporting it enough with first party games and preceding bad or nonexistent marketing. Price can be fixed, bad marketing too, but it won't take it very far without Sony showing it has some trust for the product. And at this point it's so late that without some form of brand renewal, it couldn't work, Sony can't just tell people "hey, now I really believe in this old, neglected product of mine, buy it!".

Well I guess it depends on how you look at things.

PS3 wasn't a failure just because it lost so much marketshare. The biggest failure of PS3 was being a complete financial disaster for Sony.

Vita isn't a failure because it has sold less than PSP. Its a failure because sales are genuinely abysmal, Dreamcast level of bad sales in spite of Sony pushing it. If it sold 20 or 30 million and had better support, it might actually be deemed a success. Vita didn't need to achieve PSP numers to be a successful endeavor, it just needed to sell consdierably better than it currently does.

Wii U isn't a failure because it failed to achieve the Wii's success. Its a failure for the same reasons as Vita, sales are just abysmal.

The 360 was a massive success, it exceeded realistic expectations primarily because Sony dropped the ball with PS3.

This gen MS dropped the ball with X1, but its still objectively a great platform. It won't achieve Xbox 360 sales. If its lucky, I think X1 will do 50 - 60 million units. Imagine if Vita or Wii U sold 50 - 60 million units, That would change how those platforms are perceived. X1 is going be less successful than 360 but still successful.

On a side note, X1 has actually sold better outside the US than I thought. My prediction of 15 might be low. Maybe 20 million is possible. It all depends on how comepetive MS is.

PS4 looks way too low.
And to be fair Xbone way too high but I don't have proof in this case.

This is the PS4 issue here:

End of Sep VGC: 26.5m
End of Sep Shipped: 29.3m

Unless you believe there is near 3m on shelves at end of Sep then PS4 is heavy UNDERtracked.

Well, compared to 360 sure it's very disappointing, but not an utter failure.
