Wow that was sudden. I'm playing ridge racer 5 on PS2 as we speak. Would be awesome to slide the disc in my ps4 if it happens.

If it requires buying it again like the classics on PS3, forget it. I've got like 30 ps2 games I don't feel like buying again just to play them on ps4. 

Because i've already said enough on the topic ;) people just havent noticed because I hid it, all will be revealed about what i mean after PSX, and , well, because teasing is always fun.

But honestly, how could anything be really a surprise by now. Disc-based emulation of PS2 and perhaps PS1? Good. A little unexpected but it's not that people will be completely surprised by this. The only thing that could happen is that PS2 prices for games will rise on ebay.

That's good news considering that's probably the best playstation library gen and it's a wise to emulate it over the PS3's library.  A few members of certain group wanted the PS4 to be BC with the PS3 which would of been a moronic move. 

Perhaps we will now get a solid Shadow of the Colossus? I heard the PS3 version had some controller problems which should be gone with the emulation of the PS2 version.

I would like to see an actual sequel to that game. 

I like teasing, like our exchange yesterday, you gotta have fun sometimes or what's the point.

Hopefully the prices won't increase too much for older games, some already are pretty expensive, but then you have games like ico / shadow of the colossus that dropped majorly in price for PS2 versions when the PS3 ico+sotc remaster released.

They had better start selling CECHZM1's for cheap or the ones already sold are going to shoot up in resale price.

Well, shit, I think that I'm gonna up some RPGs that I missed for the PS2 then before prices skyrocket.

I am only saying that what is fun to you is making tease people with this "Haha, I know so much and you know nothing, haha"-attitude but hey, fun is always subjective.

Anyway, if it is really dics-based as you seem to hint now even more concrete, than I might buy a PS4. I *completely* missed the PS2 era due to being at University and always thought I perhaps missed something important.

Things that I would want to play are Okami, Final Fantasy, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. Just read a link with the best PS2 games and they show me Kingdom Hearts. This is definitely not what I'm going to play, for sure. Perhaps I'll also give Gran Turismo a try but first I will see how the emulator actually performs.

For the first part, I get what you're saying, but like I said, just teasing because after PSX i can "reveal what was under their noses all along", i don't much care about "knowing something others dont", i just figure hiding messages in posts is fun, maybe someone will read my tease and dig looking for it :P

I know a lot of great PS2 games that often miss peoples "top" lists, i can give you some suggestions if you tell me the general genres that interest you.
